I am deciding on breakers or breakers express. Knowing that i will have
to drive to the park from breakers express and on my day of arrival
will have dinner at bay harbor which will mean another drive. Also
i will be by myself and the rooms at the express all have two beds.
Would you stay at the breakers or breakers express? I have a platinum
pass.
I was looking at rooms at Breakers last week and I came across one with one queen bed for $75 a night. If you have a Platinum Pass it doesn't seem worth it to pay Cedar Point prices to stay at Breakers Express. There isn't any advantage. You already have ERT access and free parking.

I've done Cedar Point in every way possible.
Everything from the KOA campgrounds with the "mobile homes" you rent to Comfort Inn's, to Breakers and Castaway Bay.
The cost difference between Breakers and Breakers Express is so small I just stay at Breakers. Walking distance to the park, better pools, food on-site, and you can see the lake real easy.
I've found VERY cheap Castaway Bay rooms during odd times of the season as well as Sandcastle Suite rooms, in fact I could have just booked a Sandcastle Suite room non-lakeview for $20 more than my Breakers room but I did not feel like walking around the peninsula or down to the Famous Daves entrance.
Breakers also gets you free parking.
Put it this way if you have a platinum pass - there is no reason to stay on-site unless you are here to vacation. If you want to stay for $42/night at the hotel right next to Castaway Bay and save it for gas/food more power to ya. I did it multiple times.
But I am on vacation now. I have changed my views on vacation. I don't go on vacation to punish myself. I go to relax a bit. So I actually like to reduce annoyances, therefore I stay at Breakers and walk down the boardwalk while sipping on something from the hotel enjoying the views of the Lake. Then I get in line and stretch out a little bit and walk in at 9:02 A.M.
You on the other hand may find yourself driving down the Causway...dealing with a little traffic....plus the damn parking booths, and driving around the peninsula to the back.
That $20 I save at Breakers is saved right there alone.
Yep, you get a discount with a platinum pass, early entry as well and a parking pass, You get all the same advantages as you do at hotel breakers, the only difference is that you have to drive and 2 queen beds at breakers express is equal to the amount of one queen bed in hotel breakers, it all depends on convenience.
