Im a housekeeping supervisor at Breakers Express and I can tell you that this year it will be a great hotel to stay at. Management has changed so all the complaints that you may have read will be different. As for the breakfast, its not free, but very reasonable. The menu consists of cereal, Krispy Kreme doughnuts, muffins, cookies and multiple kinds of milk and juice. We look forward to having you all stay with us!

We stayed at Breakers Express last year and we have a reservation there again for this year. It is less than most other hotels in the area, yet it is just as nice, it is closer to the park, and it comes with 1 hour early entry. Granted it does not have a continental breakfast, but there is a mcd's nearby, and I think someone said that Castaway Bay has a nice buffet too.
Four discount funday tickets to Cedar Point: $130.96
Overnight stay at Breakers Express: $70
Riding rides the size of skyscrapers while "legally" breaking the local speed limit: Priceless

I notice you didn't say there will be less complaints, just different ones. ;)
Goodbye MrScott

There should be less complaints... with the amount of time we put in cleaning every nook and cranny of the hotel everything should be near perfect...

Coasternerd...you were upset b/c they tested the alarm at 12:00 in the afternoon (when almost EVERYONE will be at the park)? What time would you prefer? 3:00am?
Read the post. They did it the day of Coastermania. Do that crap on a Wednesday. Not a Friday or during one of their largest ERT days of the year.
How do you know they were testing the alarms instead of them going off on their own. I had a night like that once at the (non express) Breakers. The alarm went of twice that night and once the next afternoon, it happens sometimes, there are kids around and computers like to go on the fritz now and again.
I stayed at BE last year and its not a luxury stay, but it does the job. When I stay there I am only looking for a bed to sleep in anyway. I really won't be in the hotel all that long anyway...here's my schedule: Check in at 4:00pm, then head straight to CP with the Starlight Tickets. Come back to hotel when park closes. Go to bed. Up early the next morning to get to CP and in line for ERT. At the park all day. Leave at close and go to hotel to crash. Get up early and check out for the 8 hour drive home. Like I said, I am really only using BE for the bed, and the room will be clean enough (ie no bugs and questionable stains), so I am happy with BE for my trip. If it was a longer stay and I would be in the room more, then yes, I would upgrade to Lighthouse Point

Thanks for the advice - it really is just a bed for me too. I will actually only be there from 10:00pm Saturday evening until 8:30am Sunday morning...
Cedar Point - An adventure waiting for everyone.
Well everyone, I went and it was a whole lot of fun! The park was crazy busy for this early in May - guess that is why they extended the hours.
Just wanted to get back to you on my thoughts of Breakers Express. Sadly, every single negative review I read about the place actually came true. When I got into my room I noticed that the bathroom was not cleaned and was in fact dirty beyond belief. There was a used razor with hair all over it and used soap in the bathtub, the towels were used and full of hair, and the bed had hair all over it. When we called down to the front desk we asked to be switched to another room and they told us that they were completely booked (which is funny since someone actually was booking a room earlier in the day when we confirmed our reservation at the resort desk in the park). Furthermore, they gave us an attitude about the fact that we were upset about this situiation and told us our only option was to have someone come up to the room and clean it. Let's just say that we were not happy since it was like 11:00pm we had been up since 5am and just wanted to shower and go to sleep. Anyways, they sent someone up to the room and they took like 20 minutes to do an poor cleaning of the bathroom (though I can't blame the cleaning guy since he was using nothing but spray cleaner). At the same time, a party was going on in the hallway - we once again called the front desk to break it up and they totally blew us off. It seemed like no one cared about the situiation and just wanted us to stop complaining.
I have to say that I was quite disapointed in Breakers Express - it is a nice hotel, new looking and feeling, but the service and the cleanliness is not up to par. Cedar Point should really get their act togeather in this place because it is a stark representation of them to anyone who stays there. Luckily I am a loyal season pass holder so I will keep comming back, but never again will I stay at Breakers Express.
Anyways, thank you guys for your opinion about the place. I am sure it was a fluke that this happened, but still you only get 1 chance to make an impression on someone.

I've stayed there just about every trip I've taken up there, there were no real big problems. Housekeeping as always done a great job in keep the room looking good and clean. And every day we had fresh clean towels and lots of soap.
Now last Wednesday night, some one pulled the fire alarm. And lets just say I was in the bathroom at the time, we had to leave. My dad said the alarm went off again later that night when they were reseting it, and I didn't even wake up.
But I do like staying there, its one of the cheaper hotels that you get park perks.
BPMCH02 - It looks that you weren't fortunate. I stayed at the BE for 5 nights last week and it was great: low price (with a 10$ discount from the Getaway Guide), close to the park, very clean (the room, the bathroom, the window) and quiet enough. I enjoyed the spa once. I also suffered from the fire alarm Wednesday night, but it was very short: I didn't have time to go out of the room. For sure, I would return anytime to BE.
