I'm undecided about staying at Hotel Breakers or offsite somewhere. We're going to be visiting the park on a couple of days where the park is open until midnight. My question is, can you access the beach at any time from Hotel Breakers or do they close it off at a certain time?
Can my wife and I take a trip down the beach at 1am when we get back from the park or is that not a possibility?

If you spend a couple nights in the park until midnight closing time, you would definitely want to stay on site. Who wants to walk to the parking lot and drive somewhere else that late? The nights when the park has those extended hours may already be booked for Breakers, so you should decide quickly. More power to you if you still have the stamina to "take a trip down the beach".

We stay at Breakers when we go on our annual CP trip, and we have never had an issue going down to the beach late at night. I don't know the official Breakers stance on this, but last year there were still chairs and stuff out there after 1am (we went and sat in beach chairs and listened to the waves for a while, and had a beer or two.) And I do remember at one point we walked back in towards the hotel and there were a few employees outside talking and they just nodded and said hi to us on our way in.

They have signs saying the beach closes at midnight but I've never seen it enforced. I suspect they are there in case somebody got rowdy. Employees used to have beach parties out there which were noisy. So the signs give park officials the right to say move along. However, I think if you're staying quiet and just sitting nobody is really going to say anything.
