Hiring for weekends

I was wondering if CP ever hires anyone to just come up and stay and work 2 days on the weekends threw the summer???

Not 100% sure, but I know Halloweekends aren't that far off and they definitely hire for those 7 weekends. They're hiring now, so you should apply ASAP. On my interview, I was asked if I could work weekends prior to Halloweekends so it's possible that you could get hired and start even earlier than September. Not sure if I was asked that because I was a returner, or if they ask that of all hires. Hopefully for your sake, they do hire weekends and you can get in right away.

ya ..see the only problem is I'm gonna be working in Colorado by halloween and I have a part time job during the week now so I d like to work weekends like now threw labor day..

I think they would...I worked with lady who worked just three evenings a week because she had a full-time job elsewhere. You probably would already have to be living in the area. I don't think they would provide housing during the regular season to someone who is only working two days a week. Call them and ask.

I know a couple of people who have done that during the main season, but it's pretty uncommon.

Loooooooooong outdated information, but in 1990 I took a summer class in Toledo Mon-Thurs. I had worked at CP (normal schedule) the previous two years. I applied for and was granted a position working:

Th 6-Close
Fr Open-Close
Sa Open-Close
Su Open-6

It was a shot in the dark asking at the time, and I don't know if I blew it for everyone since or not! LOL I knew they had a lot of people quit mid-season and weekends were busier, I think it worked out well for everyone. Being a veteran and willing to O/C those midnight closings probably helped my cause. I worked normal schedules after my class finished up (last few weeks before Labor Day) and all the bonus weekends as well. Of course, by the end of summer, almost everyone left is working every day without days off, with lots of O/Cs.

They hired people for bonus weekends (this was before they came up with Halloweekends) every year. They'd ask us to bring friends with us from college to work! That is all after Labor Day, so no help to the OP.

You know, it can't hurt to ask, the worse they can say is no. I would almost think there would be a department that could use you. I even think laundry could use you on the weekends. You might want to see if you can contact Mary Sims and ask her. I always say ask and try. Never give up!!!
