I just completed my phone interview and got a position in the rides department. I said I preferred a fast paced work environment, so hopefully that means there are still some openings on some coaster crews! I guess I'll find out in a few days when my contract comes.
eH, FAST PACED IS everything IN THE PARK...EXCEPT KIDDY KINGDOM....LOL!...You want fast paced, work Raptor or Dragster. Raptor and Dragster both have more than three trains. Or, you could work Cad Cars...Cad Cars will ALWAYS be better than Turnpikes....Yeah, dont worry, as long as you are in rides, it will be fast paced...sometimes it will seem like the day is too short, lol!
Actually Raptor only has 3 trains. Dragster and Disaster Transport are the only 2 rides with more than 3 trains, and despite what people think, Disaster can be very fast paced, especially at Load!

How's the pace of Magnum?
2007 - Top Thrill Dragster
2005 - Magnum XL-200/Camp Snoopy/Monster/Witches Wheel
Jeff Walker might be a better one to answer this as he has worked the ride and knows more, but it has been my understanding that when magnum is running all three trains it is fairly fast paced, but when down to only two there is a small break between arriving trains.

Magnum is really fast. Whenever I worked there I ended up sweating a lot, especially at Unload in July and August.
I don't really consider Dragster fast paced. We try to check the seats as quickly as possible but once everyone is loaded and checked theres lots of standing and wating while the trains are moving around. It's not even close to the pace of Magnum and Raptor.
I've never worked any of the car rides but they seem pretty fast paced too. I always see the crews at those rides running out to the cars.

While Magnum is definitely fast paced, try hitting interval on Corkscrew!!! Corkscrew has just as many trains running as Raptor or Magnum with only about half the amount of time for the train to get back to the station. It works out to about 40 seconds to dispatch, bring in the next train, unlock 6 cars, unload/load the guests, lock 6 cars, check all restraints, and dispatch. When you consider how slowly the trains move in and out of the station and the fact that each car must be individually locked/unlocked, this is NOT an easy task! But it can be done continuously if every employee gives 100%. Good luck with rides beltzies!

I got sent to Corkscrew one weekend in October. I'll admit it takes some time to get used to the pedals. Ryan Foor was pretty good at it. He could pop the whole train faster than I could do 3 cars. I thought it was pretty hard to hit interval there. The thing about that ride though is that as long as the person at controls is paying attention you won't set up, so there isn't a consequence for not hitting interval. Also theres no seatbelts to worry about.
I still think Magnum is more intense because of the chance of setting up and dealing with seatbelts.
Gemini with 6 trains was faster than Corkscrew and Magnum. Especially considering how bad it is to C-Set there. The new Gemini crews have NO idea how easy that ride is now with only 4 trains.

I worked Corkscrew my first summer. It was great popping the peddles. We would time each other doing it! But the thing that sucked is when we were short on people and had one one person on unload. Talk about fast pace. The person had to continously be running. Run unlock pedals, run close gates, run lock pedals, run check harnesses and dispatch the train!

I hated working on Magnum with 3 trains! In the middle of summer I would sweat sooo much! And then with Ride Prides???? They dont do anything right! Jeff's awesome though so you wont have to worry about that but last years leadership was cool too. Good luck with all the questions like"where's the Magnum Force?" and "when did they paint the Magnum blue and move it across the park?"
I got Magnum this summer and I look forward to the fast pace ride. If you are looking for sweat try working the desert crew at Michigan's Adventure, there is sweat for you, or the minors positions on Adventure Falls. This will actually be a relief for me.

How fast is Blue Streak? And also do you need to be trained on a coaster to just get sent to it?

Although Magnum is fast-paced, that's also what making it fun. I couldn't stand working somewhere where the all three trains are sitting still. **cough**MillenniumForce**cough** Even though I know it isn't the crews fault--it's usually a large guest that causes it.
I think that the pace on Magnum is just right for a crew. If you're doing your job right there very little to no time to talk between trains, which is a good thing.
