Hey guys I got hired after my skype interview with Steve Voorhees!!! I will be working as a ride host at Snake River Falls. Who else is working this ride? I process in on May 10, which seems a bit late to me. What is the best place to live on site? I am hearing you are assigned to housing based on the date you arrive to process. Anyone need a room mate??? I am pretty social and outgoing. I process in late and I want to ensure I get to live where I want. Let me know!

Congratulations on your new position! You may be able to find answers to some of your questions in the Employee Lounge forum. Several of us are lifers at Cedar Point and will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
As far as living situation, I thoroughly enjoyed living in commons dorms.
Enjoy your summer! Welcome to the club!
I'm too sexy for my harness!
Maybe you'll be assigned to Cedars, that was dorm living at it's best in 89 and 90. :)

what kind of questions did he ask you?? I have an in person interview with Steve on saturday haha and im a little nervous lol
Do not be nervous. All of the managers are so fun and easy to talk to during the interviews. They are great listeners and very understanding. Personally, I think an in person interview is a lot stress-less than an over the phone interview.
haha yeah very true. Do you think I have a pretty good chance of getting the job? Ive heard that if you make it to the second interview, you get hired.
I think everybody has a good chance at getting the job, especially if you make it to the in person interview. Just be yourself, make sure you look the interviewer in the eye, and shake his hand upon meeting him. Don't look so serious the whole time (crack a smile here and there). Express your love for the park and how much this job means to you (but not in a desperate way). At the end of the interview, ask any question that you can think of without sounding nervous, because after the interview and if hired, he will be the guy you answer to a lot during the season. If you would rather work with adults rather kids (and vice versa of course), express it. There is also a difference between wanting to work with strictly adult rides, and wanting to work with family rides, so know the differences and express upon your preference on that as well. I hope this helps to ease the stress. I have no doubt you will get hired by how enthusiastic you seem to want to work at the park. Good luck to you!
Thank you so much! This helps a lot :) I know that hes gonna ask me if I would rather work with kids or adults? Am I allowed to say both? Lol because it dont matter to me who I work with.
Well if you prefer to be on a coaster (Maverick, Mean Streak, Gemini) or intense flat (SkyHawk), of course that would be adult. If you prefer to work in Camp Snoopy or Gemini Children's area, that would be kids. If you prefer to work Antique Cars or Wave Swinger, then that would be more family oriented attractions. So it's all about your preference truthfully, and if you don't care where you work, that is great! Just think to yourself if you are more sociable with adults, then say adult rides. If you like working with children, let them know you would like children rides. Although, working in a children's area results in dealing with the parents as well. A lot of first years would give anything to get their hands on a coaster (I was definitely one of them), so I'm assuming if you say you don't care where you work, you'd be more prone to be placed in a children's area or a more family oriented ride, but I could be 100% wrong on that one, so don't hold me to it :) Also, keep in mind that you will have many opportunities to be cross trained on many other locations. I'm glad I can help. Ask away if you have more questions.
Yeah i would absolutely LOVE to work on a coaster!! Is being a rode host pretty fun?! Haha and what ride were you on? :)
I absolutely loved being a ride host! I worked mainly Wicked Twister when I worked there which is in Area 1. They send people to different areas due to staffing once in a while too.
If Steve Voorhees is interviewing you you will have nothing to worry about! He is very funny and you will have no need for nerves lol. I had a 30 minute interview via skype and I would have prefered the in-person. He only asked me like 4 questions, but they were very gerneral interview questions. He also asked loads of yes or no questions. You will more than likely have the job once he goes into those. Be yourself and smile. If you do those 2 key things I guarantee he will hire you! He used to be a ride host so I would ask him about his experience about being a ride host as one of your questions. Also, to show that you want the job, ask him which location he is looking to put you at. Of course, he didn't give me a straight answer because I am a first year hire, but after I ask it is when he gave me the good news and said I was hired. Good luck to you!
