Hey...

I was told by a friend to come to this site... My name is Sean, and I live in California. Im planning on working at Cedar Point this summer (sending application today) and have been told about housing and such... I really know no one, and I may be getting there later thaen everyone else so

Late= No Housing? So im told...

So I would like to find some people to room with, to take away a headache later on...

How about it?

There will always be housing available, but later means you don't really get your choice on where you want to go. You could get lucky and get a commons apartment or dorm, but more then likely will get put in Cedars. Its a place thats very much like going to summer camp. The rooms are small, 2 beds and a dresser, and a door is about all there is. There is no AC or heat. The advantage to this is that these are actually on the peninsula and are min. away from work. The other ouusing is off point and you would have to get a ride or take the bus. Hope this helps!

Housing's on a first come, first sereved basis. You will get a room, it's just more of a where kind of thing. RideOplifer already mentioned you'll most likely be placed at Cedars. But if you are, and you can't satnd it there. Check housing often to see if there are any openings at Commons. See you at the POINT!

Still the weird guy from California

I lived in Cedars for about five days my first summer. It's really not TOO bad at all IF you clean up the room, maybe get some rugs, have a cool roomate(s) and get lots of fans. When I say clean the room, I mean you will probably need to scrub. Upon entering my room I found leaves all over the floor, cigarette butts, and smashed bugs on the wall. I was scared to walk around without shoes. But that can all be taken care of rather easily. The only real problem is the bathrooms, which look like they haven't been cleaned or repaired in any way since the building was built... what? 100 years ago? The one faucet in the bathroom near my room barely worked. Also, maybe I am just blind, but I could not find a cable outlet anywhere. Sure you won't be watching TV much but it's nice to have when there's nothing to do. If Cedars just really isn't working for you, like it wasn't for me, just keep checking in at Commons. People quit all the time so rooms are constantly opening up.

Ah, the mistakes I made... By "no housing" I didnt mean that they would give me a cot in a boiler room, just that I would probally not be able to find "good" housing. I think it would be easiest to just plan on the commons for now....

If you want to find out where you are working before your contract arrives, check the status page on the Cedar Point application website. I think it is mostly for people who don't complete their application at one setting and come back to finish it. But if you go there, maybe not today but it will have where you are working and such. Just incase you can't wait the 7-10 days for your contract. BTW who did you talk with, because that'll tell you what part of the park you'll be at.

Good deal...if you talked with karrah that means you'll be in Zone 3...the best Zone in the park! You'l be placed at eithor Magnum, Dragster, Power Tower, Corkscrew/Super Hymalia, Camp Snoopy, Paddle Wheel, or the best crew in the park Monster/Witches' Wheel. Seriously though, any of the crews will be great to work with.

2004: Snake River Falls (First Year)

Cedars is not bad at all very convienent, yet a rug is nice! I had a bug problem (spiders) in 2002 not a single problem in 2003. I take it over common apts anyday those are grose.
