help and advice

i am from england(uk) and am taking a gap year befor uni. i want to work at the point and am inquiring about how to do this.

so could you answer a few questions.

1. what is securaty like in the provided housing.

2. what is the average age of the employees how stay in the housing. im 18

3.how mainy days off do you get (1day a week) or is it a holiday amount.

4. how mainy people in each room. is it unisex

5.what do employees do after work. is it fun. you cant get alcohol under 21 so what do you do.

I'll answer the questions I know:

1.) It would seem that security isn't too tight in the housing.

2.) Considering you can't stay in the dorms until you've turned 18/completed high school the average age is between 18-24.

3.) Most of the time you'll get one day off a week. Sometimes you won't just because of understaffing or need.

4) http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/jobs/facilities.cfm
^--All the Housing floorplans.

5.) Free access to the park, ride nights, ESD trips to other parks, did I mention free access to the park?

thanks Drew that was helpful.

if anyone else has anything to add that would be cool. eg which parks on the ESD trips (pki, sfwoa, sfdl and kennywood)hopefuly

Hey Mike, I'm now going into my 2nd summer at the point. I had a great summer last year, the fact it was sunny every day, even if it was raining a little at some point made it much better than UK summers! Last year there were trips to PKI, SFWOA and baseball games, etc. The security may not be the greatest, but if you live in Commons Dorms you get a locker. This has a little compartment inside that can be locked seperately to the rest of the locker. Quite useful for storing things you dont want nicked.

Who are you arranging your gap year with?

thanks scottishlou that was allso helpful. I live in the south so the weather is probably better than in scotland, but i see your point. I am organising my gap with the BUNCA as it was surgested by the cp web site. I will be going in 2004 seson befor i go to leister uni. if you are going to work in 04 the we could meet up.

One other thing is it easy to get a job on one of the bigger coasters if you have no experiance.
