HELL YEAH! Halloweekends

My mistake about the running water comment and the height requirement. I was just throwing out an idea, and I thank those that corrected me. So, still, while an interesting idea, the implementation of a project of this will be interesting as well..

How can anybody even consider having water in the canyon? Does it really seem that impossible to remove the rubber tires that create the rapids? Is it really impossible to build a wooden staircase or two to walk down into the trough? Let's think a little bit folks.

I'm excited about this, unfortunately with the shortened hours I'm not sure if I"ll be able to make it out there more than once or twice.

Is that extra one hour really going to break the bank? There really *is* a perception of value problem there, and this is coming from a season pass holder. Remember that Cedar Point is a destination park, don't limit Halloweekends just to folks that live within half an hour of the park.

I live 40 minutes away and even that seems a little far to go just for five hours of park operation.

Yeah, I live 90 min. away from CP, so I'm thinking....3 hours of driving and 5 hours in the park? I probably wouldn't do anything much better than see a movie or something, so I still have no problem going; it's just disappointing. If they really wanted to close at 11PM, why not bump opening to 5PM? I do think I'll have problems finding people that want to go with me though; they'll just say "Why not go on Saturday when everything is open and the park is open all day?" Maybe this year less people will come on Friday's as a result. ;)

Oh and someone asked about differing opinions of crowds, and there is a good reason. From experience, the very first seasons of Halloweekends, the Friday's were so dead (I honestly walked on Millenium Force and got in the front seat). Saturdays were comparable to regular summer days, as most people chose Saturday so they could ride all the rides, get more hours, and it was more convenient on the weekend. Since Halloweekends have become well recognized and people have learned the trends for lower crowds, I think all days CP is open have become more balanced than they once were. I went on a Friday last year, and while the crowds were still much lower than Saturday, the park still felt pretty crowded. It all has to do with weather and stuff too. Generally, lower crowds on Friday than Saturday, and earlier seasons of Halloweekends seemed to have lower overall attendance.

Lowest to highest crowds: Friday, Sunday, Saturday

Maybe the reason they are closing earlier is because the majority of Friday night attendees are season pass holders. Not enough cash coming in. Just a thought.

The only thing they'd need to move in the canyon is the wooden planks and pipes. They along with the shape of the trough create the rapids. They're just bolted to the floor.

DELETED! What time does the water show start?

I can't remember from last year, do they still handout Freeway stamps during Halloweekends?

On cedarpoint.com they posted this for werewolf canyon:

Werewolf Canyon - NEW -- You're trapped with a pack of vicious beasts in a narrow canyon filled with dense fog. Can you find an escape? Guests over 54" only. Fridays and Saturdays beginning at 8 p.m.

So I am thinking maybe it is a walk thorugh like previously mentioned. But I am still thrown off by the 54" thing.

J/W I know Pharoh's Secret is at the entrance to Disastor Transport during Halloweekends, but is DT closed during the event or do you just continue onto the ride?

Hi All, Reguarding these Halloweekends, Are they really any good, I am visiting CP in October and didnt actually realise it would be the Halloweekends so I'm even more excited about visiting now.

However I can only visit on the friday night and all day saturday, Does it get very busy Friday just for the few short hrs???? I think on Friday I will try and get a few rides on Dragster as I know that Saturday will be hell but from general experience, what are the crowds normally like on a Friday in Halloweekends just so I get a rough idea

Also do the mazes get long queues, I may try some of them but I wont do them if the queues are going to be long, I am more interested in going on the coasters really???

thanks for any info

Last year for Friday Halloweekends, the lines were insanely short. Raptor, Magnum and a few others were walk-ons. Millennium Force was about 10-15 minutes.
I can tell something is eerie at Cedar Point (besides the lake). Tonight on my 13th ride on TTD, I was stuck in the launch position for about 20 minutes. It's the first time I've been stuck. I thought it was pretty funny.
Fridays are the best days to go for Halloweekends, if you can get there from begining to close. The lines are really short for Millenium and all the other ride lines are virtually walk-ons(as previously posted). Hopefully TTD will run on fridays. The Halloweekends are pretty good I've only went last year so i'm not sure about the past years.

Halloweekends admissions are covered by your season pass.
