Height Restrictions?

CP decides the height requirements using the manufacturers' guidelines and adjusting them as they see fit.
Thats right, what I am saying is the manufacturer establishes the minimum requirements which the park must accept. If they want to increase the height than, yes, it is up to them. But they cannot not go under the height that the maker establishes.
My little brother "8" rode every ride at Cedar Point last year. Yes he is tall enough for Raptor, Mantis, and Power Tower. He rode them all and he wasn't afraid! But he was afraid of the Jurassic Park ride at IOA...
The fact that some people are happy it's 54 inches to make the lines shorter is disappoionting to me. That's just selfish. This thing is a roller coaster. Not a movie, not a video game, not a weapon, not a magazine. It's a roller coaster. Trust me, a scary ride is not going to do any long term harm to some kid. If a child is scared to ride MF at 48", he or she will be just as scared when they're 54" or 68". If it's extremely safe to ride at 48" then I think that's what it should be. Like I said in another thread, if I were you, I'd focus my attention on some of the young rider restrictions on some of the dark rides at Disney, Universal, etc. Those can cause nightmares... *** This post was edited by RockDown2G on 4/14/2000. ***

While I would have no desire to ride the little people rides, keep in mind that the "tweeners" can ride all but four rides in the entire park, something us adults can't do.

Hmmmmm. Never thought of it that way Jeff. Also a perfect example of how much a child can handle is on Thunder Canyon. Their is no reason the a child can not ride. All it has is seatbelts that can go with any size. The reason of 48" is that the waterfalls pack a punch on your neck. This could hurt a small child. The suggested mh was 46" on this ride as is on all other rapids rides.

Millennium Force will be the next to sink!
Actually, the ride height for Thunder Canyon is 46"....
When I was in 4th grade I couldn't stop riding Mantis! ( And before anyone comments, I was 64 inches tall then- WOW!!!!!)

There is no possible way you can get me off Gemini.
You were over 5ft tall in 4th grade? You must have been eating your wheaties. But you also got to ride the big rides before others which I am sure was pretty cool.

Wow. I have to think it's worth being that tall at a young age, even if you do stand out. The ride bragging rights would be worth it (not to mention you could play Olympic volleyball before you graduate from high school)!
