You mean to tell me you didn't throw a fit about management/park employees being lazy, demand a coupon, cause a big scene etc?

How you responded is exactly how all parents should respond. You know going in there are chances your kid won't be tall enough. This should be an even bigger clue if you are stuffing their shoes with Johnny Rocket cheeseburgers (that one still baffles me, those things are expensive!), feminine napkins, TP etc. Insoles ehh maybe, at least those are made for shoes.

I remember being to short to ride plenty of rides back in the day. Sure I may have been bummed for a little bit but my parents and I didn't march to guest services at Geauga Lake and thorw a fit and insist that because I was literally a hair too short that they reconsider and make exceptions to the rules.

Maybe PG should also remember that amusement parks are private property. You have NO right to be there. It is a privilege. Given his background, I wonder if he thinks we should be more lenient on the BAC levels that a drunk blows to secure him an OVI here in Ohio. Maybe he doesn't feel some are drunk at .08 and the officer should bend on the law for those people.

and for the fun of it...http://www.quickmeme.com/meme/3uqd1q/

Lets just stop feeding this troll, When you see his posts just skip them, dont reply to them don't Quote them. Don't fuel his fire, I can't bring myself to believe someone can be so stubborn they still think they are right when literately everyone else disagrees with his BS. He is getting off on the fighting and arguing at his expense. let him talk to himself and eventually he will get the hint and go away.

When PG posts

I have apologized numerous times before if people are offended or annoyed by my post. That is not my intent. While some people my not agree with some of my views and think I am '"talking out my ass", everything I post to support my views are 100% factual. You do not have to be an expert on park operations to recognize bad policy or management. The other problem is, the overwhelming majority of people who go to the park agree with me; but obviously, just not people who are posting on this site. All I am trying to do with my post is to get some people expand their perspectives to realize there are other points of view and possibly better ways of doing things.

Admittedly, I am not a cheerleader for park management. They do some things very well but they are far from perfect. Maybe I don't post about the good things as much as I should. What I really don't understand is why people get so angry or so offended when I criticize obvious deficiencies in the park. Don't we all want the park to be as good as it can be?

In this case, what makes it bad policy is a kid can wear tall shoes or stuff his shoes with god knows what and as long as the ride host doesn't catch the "shoe stuffing" then the kid is OK to ride. The kid that plays by the rules and is 1/4 inch too short gets screwed. It is compounded at the 48 inch height requirement when the price goes up. Throw in ride host turning away kids after they already paid adult admission price and getting wristbands from park operations and families have a right to be upset. Couple that with the park removing more and more family attractions and someone could easily get the impression that it is not a family friendly place despite the alleged move to attract more families because they spend more money in the park. Park operations experts tend to miss the holistic view of what is expected by park guest.

First others don't come after me with the pitchforks and torches for this.

Second, PG please explain to me how when one is caught at a ride later on in the wrong after knowingly stuffing shoes etc has a right to be upset? They were in the wrong from the start!

No, they're opinions, anecdotes, and emotional feelings, all of which you convince yourself is indisputable truth.

the overwhelming majority of people who go to the park agree with me

There is literally no proof of this. It is your opinion that the overwhelming majority of people agree with you. Pulling a statement like this out of thin air and passing it off as an undeniable fact is the textbook example of "talking out of your ass."

All I am trying to do with my post is to get some people expand their perspectives to realize there are other points of view and possibly better ways of doing things.

Criticism of the park happens on a regular basis here. The posting of opposing viewpoints is also common around here and tolerated quite well. That's not what you're doing. You're stubbornly, repeatedly and contentiously spouting views as unquestionable fact.

"I'm right and you're all wrong" is easily ignored, until it turns into dozens and dozens of posts spanning many different topics on multiple threads.

I think that we took this topic down a dark path. I'm not saying who is right and who is wrong but why cant we just stop arguing. I don't mean to offend anybody by this post but i just hate violence (even though this is only a flame war on the internet).

Two things,
1. I am surprised PG is not bounced yet. I have not noticed a single person who has enjoyed his company let alone agreed with him.

2. How is this topic not closed yet?

I could be wrong and if I am I'm sure someone will point it out but I am quite certain that I have never said "I'm right and your wrong". I have corrected many blatantly false or untrue statements with undisputable facts. I have offered opposing points of views with a different conclusion to various situations. I certainly have never called anyone names (or at least directed at a particular poster). Jeff and Walt are doing a tremendous service by providing this forum and I recognize and respect that.

Would most park guest who paid for a single day admission appreciate a rain check if many of their favorite attractions are closed for whatever reason the day they visited the park? Would most people enjoy visiting the park on a gorgeous spring day if the park was open? Would most people prefer better quality food at a cheaper price? Would most people prefer free parking and no service fees on internet purchases? Would people not want to be harassed by other guest if they bought a fast pass? Would most parents accept or prefer a standard measurement of height rather than having to worry about stuffing kids shoes?

You may be right that the answer to all of those questions is purely someone's opinion. I don't think that you need a scientific survey to find out that the answer to all of those questions is, Yes. I provided discussion topics on ideas how the park could improve itself and answer those questions better. Are some of my ideas "outside the box"? Sure. Are some a little far fetched? Maybe. Is there at least a little bit if plausibility in every single one of them? Absolutely.

I would hope Jeff or Walt don't decide to bounce me from the site. I merely note that I am not the person who keeps calling people trolls or idiots. I learn a lot from this site and believe it or not from other posters opinions that don't agree with me. All I am asking when I post is for people to keep and open mind and every now and then they might learn something from me or at least see another perspective.

If you cut the bottom line all I have ever said is; the park can do better. That is my opinion. Everyone else seems to keep saying they can't. Despite the many flaws I see with the park; I will argue with anyone who says it's not the best amusement park on the planet. I think we are all on the same side. I just don't get the amount of venom and animosity directed towards me.

I think I speak for everybody when I say this if not somebody correct me.

If you want people to stop calling you names like troll, idiot, etc, yet still have your own opinions about the park, maybe you should keep some of them to yourself, especially if you recognize yourself that it is unrealistic. Above all, just stop arguing with people, if they have a different opinion than you, accept it, stating why your idea is better just causes problems and argument, which nobody enjoys reading through.
Thank you for your ideas, but in the future, if majority hates it, give up and stop arguing.

Right, because if you said that, we'd call you out on grammar and period placement.

Magic 8 Ball says, "It doesn't look good."

^ +100 for the Magic 8 ball!

I see part of the problem is people want to pretend that I said things that I didn't. Never have I said any of my ideas are unrealistic. That is the almost the opposite of what I said. Another legitimate question is why is anyone on a discussion board (using the term for this forum) if they don't want to discuss issues about the park? I am not offended by anything anyone wants to say about me or my opinions on this forum. I fail to see why so many people seem to take issue with me personally.

Sorry, I admit my grammar sucks. It always has but, I somehow manage to get my point across. I always hated that stupid Magic 8 ball. Never had much faith in it. The floating message thing always kept getting stuck on its edge so you couldn't read what it said. I always had more faith in fairness and open minded people like Jeff and Walt who encouraged free speech with this forum.

You seem to have something all over your nose.

Perhaps, PointGuru, you don't understand what the word "discussion" means? Because you don't really ever seem to care to engage in "discussion."

Instead of engaging others in debate and using actual facts instead of the "I don't think that you need a scientific survey to find out that the answer to all of those questions is, Yes" facts you seem so fond of, you pout, you become petulant. It's not attractive, nor does it do much to further your arguments.
