Heartline-Roll on Maverick

So I was looking at older pics of Maverick and I saw one of the heartline-roll and it made me SO sad that we didn't get it. I mean I know it would have caused stress, but man that would have been a fun experience.

It was the most anticipated element of the ride. Don't worry, we all feel the same way.

I can tell you from seeing it in real life, it would've been over so fast that you could miss it if you blinked.

And don't forget the fire-hose that was once used!

Yes but wasn't the hose taken off for hitting people in the face or something?

What fire hose?

It was a hose that went over the current s-curve and the big rock formation.

It was what CP calls theming. Instead of a waterfall in the canyon where the roll was they had a random hose spraying over the canyon. It looked tacky.

Let's Get Weird.

Why couldn't they have used my suggestion of bright, fluorescent 3-D handprints in the queue?

That's fine as long as it includes a long, glowing, tunnel, tuby thing that makes an annoying waaaaaaa............waaaaaaaaaaaa.........sound.

Seeing trains whip through it looked pretty intense. I watched as they tested it in May 2007 and even though we never got to ride it that way I'm glad I got to see it in action.

Maverick is still such an amazing ride, without the heartline roll. But you're right, that was probably the part of the ride I was looking forward to most. Oh well.. those stengel dives are still amazing :)

I thought that went without saying. ;)

Oh ok, then all is well. How about we end the ride with a "trip" to Alaska!? Ever since the elections, I've really wished that the DT DID stop in Alaska. Sadly everytime I exit the ride, I'm still in boring ol Cedar Point.

I got chills watching the trains go through the heartline roll. Now I guess I can try to figure out a way to rig up a train to it in front of Adena's home offices and just get pulled through......

I agree that it was one of the most anticipated elements of the ride. However even in the regular Stengel dives sometimes I feel like I get whipped to much and my neck runs into the restraints. It would have been intense and fun for sure, but I don't know how much it would have hurt. I mean they took it out for a reason.

It would have been over so quick I doubt you'd feel any kind of pain besides the typical head/shoulder banging. Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember reading that it was more or less the stress on the trains that was the deciding factor for it's removal.
