With Mavericks' "heartline roll" now removed and successfully replaced with an "S" curve I was wondering if there exists anywhere else a non-inverted coaster with a "heartline roll" element in its layout. Also, I was wondering if it would be possible to perhaps redesign Mavericks' trains to "strengthen" them against the stress that the "heartline roll" put on them and then later re-insert the "heartline roll" or was the "real" issue the G-forces on riders during "the roll".
I don't understand your first question, but if you mean what I think you do, a good example would be Colossus at Thorpe park in the UK: http://www.rcdb.com/ig1412.htm?picture=10 As far as the second question goes, it's not as if the only stress occurs whithin the riders or the train. It's twofold. The track has to take the forces placed on it by the train as well. Excessive g-forces can stress track to the breaking point.

Intamin heartlines also exist on:
Furius Baco (PortAventura in Spain)http://www.rcdb.com/ig3430.htm?picture=15
Volcano: The Blast Coaster (Kings Diminion)http://www.rcdb.com/ig474.htm?picture=12
Kanonen (Lisberg in Sweden)http://www.rcdb.com/ig2905.htm?picture=31
Storm Runner (HersheyPark)http://www.rcdb.com/ig2498.htm?picture=24
Just to name a few, besides the Colossus clone and predecessor of course.. :)

^Actually, you are mistaken...
Furius Baco takes it at quite a fast speed, not as fast as Mavvy, but atleast 50mph.

I guess that posts #2 and #4 pretty much explain the removal of Mavericks' "heartline roll". It looks to be more an issue of the speed of the train at the point that the "roll" occurred. The other examples given (above) of coasters with the same manuver look to have the roll at a slower section of the ride. It just seems weird that a company that has built rides like this before couldn't have calculated that the stress and g-forces at the speed the train would be going were going to be too great for the manuver. Someone must have thought "Heartline roll! Eh, we've done that before. Let's just make it faster! Yeah, no prob! It will work fine!".

Notice how much longer (stretched out) that roll is and the difference in where you sit on that ride. Very cool looking trains I must add. :)

You know, after further thought, how do you heartline a roll for a coaster train in which the riders sit several feet apart, over the sides of the rails? It's really not a heartline, is it?

Never said anything about how long it was, just that it was a heartline roll. :)

On a side note, I know they were considering auctioning off the WWL boats. Does anyone know what happened to those?
I've heard that the boats were sold, hence the reason boat #13 disappeared from where CP was keeping it mid summer last year and never appeared in the dead ride graveyard during Halloweekends.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
