^ Neck banging for me too- though minor: its really all in how you are sitting and handling the ride. In the back (which is the best seat) the first drop will throw you as you enter that first turn- that was the only problem that I saw- everything else is very smooth, but wild at the same time haha: air time galore!!!
i really dont want to take out my earings. I never took them out for anything including mantis and corkscrew; I just wear flexible jewlery and my piercings are so far on the inside of my ear it wouldn't affect me anyway.

No head banging, but my ride in the second row was a little rough on the neck and shoulders though. I didn't notice it in my front seat ride. Overall, the ride is so amazing you don't even notice.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Has anyone ever gotten those superficial bruises on your shoulders due to any OTSR? Cause maverick gave me some, so im guessing it was rough but it was just so dang fun I really did not notice. They don't even hurt either... It could have also been the three straight rides from the red cross even too. I didnt even notice them until I got home or about 4 hours after my initial rides on Maverick.
My buddy also got the same type of bruises from Mantis,so I have a suspicion its because we are tall so are shoulders come in contact more with the OTSR. (We are both 6'7 -6'8)

Yes, I also got bruises from Maverick and was one of the Red Cross riders. I didn't notice at all while riding, and in fact didn't notice until I got home and I changed my shirt (which was, like the rest of me, soaking wet). The bruises are sore only if I apply pressure to them. This is the first ride that's given me any bruises!!

^Ouch. That's what happened to me on Storm Runner.
I think Mantis is the most uncomfortable ride at CP. I've found that Corkscrew can be tolerable, even fun, if you hold your head back.
It's called Millennium Force, not "Millenium" Force. Thanks.

For me it has to be Corkscrew, which I've only ridden once at CP. I'll have to try it again with your advice to see if that helps. I agree that Mantis can be quite uncomfortable. I've found to help is to lean completely forward in the restraints, which is great when you go down the first hill. I also have my hands in front of me, not holding onto the restraints. You have to have some faith that the restrains aren't going to let go. :) Even then, I think I could only ride Mantis a few times in any given day..

Sometimes I think it can be unpredictable as far as how much your head will hit the restraints. I usually have no trouble with Raptor but had my first kind of jerky ride last Sunday. My head banged the sides a few times, nothing serious. My friend, however, had earrings in and said that her ears and her head really hurt from them hitting restraints. I think alot of it has to do with where the piercings are. She has the cartilage at the top of her ears pierced which is where the most pain was. I just hope Maverick doesn't bruise me up too badly...
I've gotten bruises on a few other rides (like Riptide at Knott's), and it seems like it only takes one quick thrust into the restraints to get a bruise, so I guess its not all that surprising. Still its odd that no one is complaining of discomfort during the ride.

No bruises. The only slight discomfort I had on the ride was on the Stengal dive. The entire rest of the ride was smooth
This year:
Maverick: 5
MF: 4
TTD: 2
Skyhawk: 5
^Is the discomfort similar to Raptor, Mantis, or "god-forbid" Mean Streak?
Raptor has some rough transitions in some places, but they are far from terrible and don't take much away from the overall experience.

I'd say it's most like Mantis. The ride is glass smooth, but the acceleration through some of the curves really throws you to one side of the restraint.
The ride pretty much is glass smooth. My head didn't get banged around at all in the corkscrews. You just have to do what I learned to do on Mantis. Keep your neck locked in place so your head can't get knocked around.

I rode three times today and did experience some neck banging, but nothing that detracted from the ride. And for me Maverick is MUCH more comfortable overall than Mantis--I think I could ride Maverick all day without any problems. For the Red Cross ride, we went three times in a row and I would have been happy to stay in that seat for hours on end. Minus the heavy rain, of course. :)
I think I experienced more "banging" in the back of the train than when sitting in the front seat..

I actually consider Mantis to be pretty uncomfortable in terms of head-banging. I hope its more leaning toward the Raptor side...
