Headbanging Issue?

Do you think that raising the height requirement and telling people not to wear ear-rings has to do with a headbanging issue?

I sure hope not. Headbanging is the reason I don't ride Corkscrew to often, so I am praying that Maverick won't have that problem.

Headbanging is an issue according to those who have ridden storm runner (same restraints). As for the earings it is due to the very powerfull magnets used to power the ride. ;)

sorry DBCP I thought that one was implied.

Huh? I don't see them saying that you can't wear watches, belt buckles, or steel-toed shoes...

I'm 5'10", when I sat in the test seat last weekend my head hit the OSR right on the tops of my ears. I could see if anyone had on earings it could hurt.

Yeah, when I sat in the test seat I could definitely envision head banging issues. Doesn't seem like a great OTSR for this ride, but there's only one way to know for sure and that will be tomorrow morning! :)

I've only ridden Corkscrew once as it's one of the most uncomfortable rides that I've been on at CP.

^ Corkscrew pretty much is the most uncofortable ride at CP..hopefully Maverick doesnt become to be just like it.

Total Maverick rides for the 2007 season = 27

Top 5--- 1. Maverick- 2. Millennium 3. Magnum 4. TTD 5. Gemini

Cavs- 2007 Eastern Conference Champions!.-

With OSTRs head-banging is inevitable. Even Raptor has it to some extent. Let's just hope that it isn't to the point of detracting from the ride.

The OTSR hit you on the TOP of your ears? Geesh. If that's the case, my entire head will be below the OTSR.

I don't think Maverick's theme song is going to be any form of heavy metal, so I'm pretty sure you won't have to worry about headbanging...

Corkscrew isn't bad at all. I even rode it twice in a row on Monday because it was fun and had no line. Keep your head back and you'll be fine.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

I watched the dummies' heads as they went through the horseshoe roll and the modified section, and both times their heads were perfectly stationary. That is pretty damn smooth, so I'd say the rest of the ride probably is too.

Josh earns car crash of the day. JERK! ;)

After riding Maverick three times, I did not hit my head once on the restraints. Big thumbs up!!

so they really make you take off earrings? is it because they are affraid that you will hit your ears?

No head banging. None. Yes they make you take off your earrings.

I had minor head banging in the quick transitions and the sengels, thats about it... really it was neck banging for me though
