Yeah, or go stand under the hand dryer in the restroom....looks about as effective lol
Lol... I actually had to do this one time. When I was stripped down to my boxers trying to dry my shorts, a whole group of Middle Eastern people came in and started laughing and pointing at me.
I can see why they need the dryer. It's because most of the people that ride SRF want to go ride bigger rides like Maggie and Millie. That leaves the seats wet which brings other guests to them being mad. It's a good idea, but long lines may pop up at the dryer or the guests will not use the dryer. I'm waiting for a day where everyone rides SRF and the dryer gets broken.
ask me for my facebook.
$5 to have warm air blow on you, woohoo, no thanks haha. What a gimmick...I'd rather stay wet! Nice idea though.

$5 for 3.5 minutes at Kings Island. No clue how it worked (seemed to half-dry the only kid I saw using it... and by half I mean his top, and not his bottom.) It did give me the funniest moment of the weekend, though, as I saw a bunch of managers and execs standing around it in a semicircle scrutinizing it with looks on their faces that seemed to say, "What is this thing that we just bought?"
I saw the same thing, and it just happened to be Mr. Kinzel and crew.
The Haystacks have been popular in Europe for a while and have just now made their way to the US. (I got in the demo model at IAAPA last year) I've heard they work pretty well, but i've never tried one while soaking wet.
5 bucks, though? Yikes. I can see a dollar a minute, or something like that, but at 5 for 3.5? I bet a lot of people pass. At KI it says "Family Dryer" as if to encourage more than one at a time, but it seems to me that would only diminish it's effectiveness.
I'm the oldest one here. CP emp '73-'74
Yeah yesterday at Kings island there were people craming into the box trying to get dry. At one point I saw 6 people in one at one time. Pretty crazy.
Let's Get Weird.
Yesterday, I had someone behind me in line for Skyhawk who had used the dryer and was still dripping wet. I think if you are somewhat wet, they will work well, but if you are soaked. You will still probably be soaked after your 5 dollars worth of heat is gone. ;)

I rode Snake River opening day and tried using the dryer.. its 5 bucks for a few minutes, and if your soaked it doesn't really do much! Plus i smells bad in there, lol. Might as well just go in a bathroom and stick your clothes under a dryer.. it works better :p

I am not paying $5 for 3 minutes of a lame dryer that probably won't get you dry anyway.......
it will just break down all the time and people will fight over it thinking it is the best thing in the world.
The free dryer is located very close to the water rides. It is SkyHawk. Ride it twice and you will be dry. Now that is 5 dollars well saved :)
They have an identical one at Dollywood. I don't get what the point was to get wet in the first place if your just going to use a dryer.

Yeah, which is freaking awesome for the next sorry soul that has to sit in your seat. If thats not being considerate, I don't know what is! [/sarcasm]
Honestly, I hate getting wet at all in parks. I went to ride Skyhawk last week only to be assigned to a seat that was dripping wet by some kid who thought it would be fun to use skyhawk to dry off. Why should I get my rear wet because someone else wanted to ride SRF and get wet? So I sat in a different seat and totally screwed up the order of things for that ride, which was fine for me because my rear didn't get wet. I'm sure the sorry person who had to sit in my seat got all POed about it, left the park in disgust, and went 100 mph down the causeway in his anger crashing into Lake Erie. See? Big liability there all started because a kid wanted to "dry off", so they put in the dryer.
I pay for the locker and stuff my clothes in there, then ride SRF, thunder canyon, only in a bathing suit, then get my dry clothes, then ride skyhawk and not leave a wet butt for the next rider. It is worth the $2 for a locker, but some people stuff their things in a bush, behind lockers, or an odd place like up in the trees or inside the mill gift shop down the midway and get their stuff stolen.....oh well their loss...
^I've seen so many people do that! It kind of funny because you'll be walking around and see a pair of pants and socks hanging in a bush!
Last year in early June I went and it was like 90 outside so everyone was rushing to Thunder Canyon, only to find all the lockers were filled, instead of waiting for someone to go to the lockers and get there stuff or just walk to SRF or MF lockers, everyone put there stuff all over the midway. A employee said not to but it was a bunch of teens so they didn't care. Then everyone threw a fit because there stuff was gone and that stuff was stollen! Those Baygulls had a fiesta and started going in peoples shorts looking for stuff to eat and build a nest! Or they just took whole peices of clothing. I would be so mad if my stuff was taken by a bird, but then again I'm not that stupid to leave my stuff out all over the Trail.
