thanks.....got to love the spooky stuff this time of year. I have some old friends in the Strabane PA area, brings back good old memories.
I have heard the carousel story before, only told differently. I heard he killed his wife and supposedly stuffed her body within the only horse on the carousel with a sword carved on the side. Then it continued with the music and mysterious running at night part. Interestingly enough though. The Frontier Carousel was moved (obviously) but the particular horse in the story did not go with it.. It sits in Town Hall Museum to this day. Seriously, go look :P
R.I.P. MrScott... You're greatly missed!!
Now that's creepy! Even if there's no validity to it, that's a good story :)

I'm sure a few of you have read "The Shining" by Stephen King or seen the movie.
So, here goes. Would you be willing to spend several nights in the old section of Hotel Breakers during the 'dead' of winter? No one there but you and the snow and wind whipping in off the lake?
Hmm, maybe I'll email Kinzel. This could be an off season profit center!
^^Funny you mention that, considering the allegations that the Shining was originally supposed to be filmed at the Breakers.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you

The Shining is one of my favorite books and my fav movie (1980 version). I came across another thread where this is mentioned, but I must say that it has to be false. The location is an isolated hotel in the rocky mountains which is essential to the story unless Stanley Kubrick wanted to only use the Breakers for interior shots. I read a scene was to be filmed on the causeway involving a car crash into the water or something to that extent, and CP wouldn't allow it, so they had to choose another locale. That makes no sense as well, since there is no car crash in the book or movie. Though the lobby and halls of the old section of the Breakers do look like what I imagine the Overlook Hotel in The Shining to be like, I would have to say this was totally a rumor.

Some threads deserve either a painful or peaceful death. However, considering the time of year, this must carry on.
Please recap any recent haunting stories at CP or update the old ones.
Why is access limited on the upper sections of the Breakers rotunda, although there is no one enforcing the rule? I have heard recent stories about the carousel ponies in the CP Town Hall Museum. I'd like to hear what others have heard.
^Last I knew the upper sections of the rotunda were employee rooms for seasonals who worked in the hotel. I'm not certain on that though, but it would explain the limited access. Although I have heard some excellent ghost stories about that part of the hotel. Other stories I've heard are of course the somewhat infamous Frontier Carousel and a story about the Giant Wheel being haunted.

Well all the stories are correct and I have another one to tell! A woman and a man were in love and the had to leave each other so they were going to commit suicide. The man jumps and the woman pulled her slef back up. I have been pulled/pushed before! Creepy right?
Years ago we stayed at the Bellevue Inn which used to be the Best Western and we saw a ghost. We stayed in a suite that held half of our party and my twin and I shared a bed that night. I woke up in the middle of the night and saw a man floating through the wall.
I would have just called this a dream but in the morning I told my sister in law about it and she didn't believe me. While I was in the shower, my twin told her the same story. This is when she freaked out and told me what he had said. The only difference in our story was that when he saw the ghost it was floating vertically above my body and appeared to be a woman. I never believed in ghosts until that night. SPOOKY!
^^ok? What are they jumping off? Might want to check this out...

"You are NOT going back to your friends in line. I will be monitoring you VERY closely!"
-remember, line jumping is NOT a sport!!-
Took the stair cases up the rotunda. No one was there to say don't.
On the third or fourth level, a cool breeze blew threw and some say they felt their bodies being pulled back and feared going further.
Its not the go-cart tracks. It is actually the hand made carving carasel. It is at the main entrance at the park. It turns it self on at like and spins back wards. If you sit on the black horse you will see the mans carvings name an eath pact in the early 1900's. and on another horse you will see a carving of a guys hea he had carved. and the guys head was the guy his wife was cheating on.
PS. did you know hotel breakers was gonna be the hotel for the popular 1980 movie the shining? but cedar point backed out because they would think they would not have geusts there. Plus: cedar point was built on an indian berual ground. Also: I just got back from cedar point yesterday. And we brought one of those goes detecter things. it was amazing! we cought voices. 1 said: what are they doing here? they are disturbing the resort! And another one said: I am gonna jump off the ledge again if they don't go away! tell me more if you know more!
Who you gonna call? Goes Busters!
The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

Except, the main midway carousel isn't the haunted one. The actual haunted carousel used to be back in frontier and is no longer there. The black horse is in the Cedar Point museum back by the entrance to skyhawk and SRF.
