Hat Rack

My contract says that I am an associate at the Hat Rack. I was wondering if anyone worked or knew anyone that worked there and if they liked it. Aslo, do they shift you around during the season to other stores?

I"m pretty sure i'm wrong but I believe the hat rack is on the main midway by Raptor.

That would be Hattitudes coaster runner. Hat rack is the one next to the Pagoda, adjacent to Airbrush and that pretzel place.

Hi Stephany! I've had roommates who've worked for Merchandise each of my past two summers at the Point, and it sounds like a really good job. You'll meet a lot of fun people and get to help out little kids, too. I think that at the hat stores you can wear the hats during work to advertise them, so that's one way you'll be able to have fun at work -- some of those things are really goofy! I'm not sure whether you'll get to help out at other stores or not; I'm assuming yes, especially if you're a hard worker and learn things fast -- I think most departments have the need to scoot people around once in a while for staffing reasons.

I'm sure you're wondering about housing, activities, pay, etc. By doing a search using the "Search" link near the very top of this page, you'll find that a lot of these topics have been discussed in the past and a variety of information is already available for you. Thanks for the help guys. I was thinking the Hat Rack was by the Raptor too. I guess I never paid much attention because I'm not a big hat person. I can sell them though. =o) I'm looking forward to meeting people this summer, but I"m SO nervous. I guess that's because I'm a shy one. Hopefully most people I come across will me pretty nice.

It's okay to be nervous, Stepheny, since everything is so new for you -- there's sure a lot to learn and plan for, isn't there? ^_^ Just don't be afraid to ask questions, whether here on these boards or when you start working; no one will look down on you for wanting to know something -- it's better to find out right away when you're wondering than just guess and then make a mistake!

I'm sure you'll have a great time and meet lots of really nice people. Make sure to come to Ride Nights and other events; that's a good way to meet other employees and have a lot of fun. Cedar Point is a place where I've made some of the best memories of my college years; I'm sure you'll find the same experience.

Your contract may say Hat Rack but you may not work there much, and/or you may never find yourself working there. Merch staffs with locations for budget only if i remember right, but they then place people as they arrive where they need you. what this means is that despite your contract saying hat rack you may end up working at Emporium, or Snoopy botique, or Pagoda. so dont worry where you work, merch is pretty fun and you should enjoy yourself. Just be ready to work wherever they need you when you get there. Good luck and most of all have fun.
