Has the Iron Dragon ever been repainted?

I was just wondering if the Iron Dragon has ever been repainted. I remember 2 seasons ago waiting to board the train and being surprised at how much dirt and dust was on top of the track in the station. And also with the repainting of that coaster at Knotts Berry farm being the same colors (I think it was the Bommerang) as the new colors as the Wildcat...anyone think is was just a coinkydink? Or just a great deal on purple and green paint?

Only the insdie of the station and the trains have been touched up.

Thats for sure Dan,the track and supports look horrible. Now with all of the trees gone,I would think they would bump up Dragon on the repainting list.

I think that ID's paint is still in better shape than Magnum, so if they do paint it, Maggie should be done first.

However, with the renovation of the CP Cinema into the GoodTimes Theater, the repainting of Mantis and Wildcat, and the cleaning up of Dodgem II, it seems that they are revitalizing all of the original Million Dollar Midway. I would think it only inevitable for Iron Dragon to get a face lift as well.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

I hope they keep it the same colors, even if it is ugly. The ugly grey and red has become a classic (at least to me).

I really don't think it has ever been painted but it still looks really good. It really sucks they took out the trees by the way the pictures look the could have left at least half of those trees! Iron Dragon was my first coaster and the trees just liven up the ride!

iron dragon does need a new paint job... i think it needs new colors, not just new paint... it seems like every Arrow suspended coaster is red...Iron Dragon, PKI's Top Gun, Busch Garden's Big Bad Wolf...CP should get it a new paint job entirely, including new colors, just to be different.

Iron Dragon? Yes, it's in need of attention. I agree, Rogue. I'd like to see some new paint and some new trees, preferably mature, around the track itself. We'll see.

Saddam's Newest Weapon

Top Gun at Paramount's Kings Island is actually gray on gray now. It's pretty boring, but a really good suspended in my opinion. It would be nice if Iron Dragon would be re-painted and have it's station spruced up. I dont know why, but I think that particular midway is extremely ugly.

I agree that the Million Dollar Midway is somewhat ugly but I don't think it's because of Iron Dragon's staion. In fact, that's one of the classier looking stations in the park if you ask me along with Corkscrew and Gemini. I'm glad to see CP paid attention to detail with the Dragster station. Their last several station designs (WT, MF, Mantis and Raptor) leave a lot to be desired.

i think Raptors ststion is pretty good, and WT and MFer are simple but good. ID has a nice setup, but does in fact need trees and paint.

Does anyone know a number of how many trees are going to be replanted in the park?

If memory serve correctly,I think it was repainted within a couple of years of Magnum's opening. I believe ID and Corkscrew wre painted the same season.

I just remember showing up one season seeing both with new paint. Just can't remember exactly when it was!

I dont think the Corkscrew was ever repainted. Am I correct on this? An I think this should be next on the list for some sprucing up.

What? Corkscrew has always been blue/white.

ID was installed only 2 years before Magnum's opening, so of couse it would have looked bright and new then.
