Happy 10th birthday Raptor! 07-12

My husband and I stopped in Norwalk for McD's on the way to CP, and much to our surprise a whole family came up to us looking for the "Raptor people."
They had parked next to my truck (moving CP billboard) so they had no doubt any ??s they had about CP I could answer ;)
This family came from Chattanooga, Tn and asked if TTD was running. They came last year to ride it to no avail (shocker) I told them it was running better than last year and pending any unforeseen things it should be running ok. I then proceeded to advise them if they planned on riding TTD first thing to park in Soak City lot...blah blah blah. What should have been a 5 minute conversation ended up more like a 20 minute one...oh well. We didn't get to see them again the rest of the day and we wondered and hoped they did get their ride.

Hubby and I arrived at CP earlier than usual and thanks to Joe Cool were one of the 1st 15 on the Raptor line. Line quickly filled once park opened, and the rains came. It started pouring just after Janice made her Raptor speech. (While my employee blues and my husband's raingear sat in the truck!! GRR!) We got our Raptor b-day pin, and off to the platform we went. We opted to ride middle train/middle seats in an attempt to stay semi-dry. We were in the 1st train so the seats were drenched, the funniest thing was going up the lift I was prepared to get "peed" on but I didnt, my husband and the kids in the outside seats were but for some odd reason it was NOT dripping on me!! Regardless, the ride was a blast, and we were all drenched when we got off.
The rain would eventually taper off (and wouldn't come back till way later in the afternoon) and thanks to high humidity most of the day we didn't stay wet very long.

High Po!nts: Obviousely being able to celebrate Raptor's birthday, and being on the 1st train. Seeing a bunch of friends through out the day was fun. We rode everything and anything we wanted to, with no real long waits (except for Banshee, and that was only 45 minutes) The weather started off sucky and at times it was way humid but it really turned out to be a beautiful day despite the Raptor rain. Crowds were alot more tolerable than I had prepared my hubby for. We even saw "Snoopy on Ice" and hubby did enjoy it (told him he would!!)
Buying yet another CP merry-go round horse to add to my collection!! :)

Low Po!nts: Line ditchers. Apparently if you're a blue tag it's ok if you ditch? :( That certainly is news to me! Some of the conversations we heard in the lines during the day. It never ceases to amaze me how stupid some people are. Smokers...don't even get me started!! :(
The lowest point of the day had to be when we were leaving there was some couple SCREAMING at one of the silver tags (who I know) by the guest relations door, just lacing into him because they didn't get to ride TTD and the lines on all the other rides! (WHAT lines?)
Some people just are unreal, why do they think that CP can control the weather, and the amount of guests? I could NEVER control myself with some of these people (you can thank to NYer in me for that attitude problem) it was hard enough being a ride op for 3 years listening to some of the stupid complaints. In those instances you simply direct them to park ops or the nearest blue tag.
The CP employees (silver tags and all) do NOT get paid enough for the stuff they have to deal with :(
period.
Sorry for the whining myself, yikes!!! I'm as bad at them!! :(

Last low point, no Millennium grill open...so hubby didn't get his sausage sandwich. He was really disappointed! :(

All in all a great CP visit, we both had a blast!

Happy Birthday Raptor!! :)
Gonna be 1k rides for me this season for SURE!!! :)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?

Sounds cool! We were going to make it over to Raptor for that, but we had limited time yesterday so we just rode Millennium Force again. I know what you mean about what you have to deal with. When I was entering the line for MF (right before it started to pour, about 9:30) this couple was in front of us, and the guy asked the woman if she'd ridden MF this year, she said no, and he asked her to try the test seat. She just walked away mumbling something, and her husband, a rather large man (but not too large for MF) stepped up and was like "Why didn't you ask me the same question?" and the employee said "I felt that you could ride-" and the guy's like "Well why didn't you ask me the same question?!" and the employee said "Sir, please move through the line-" "Don't talk to me like that!" and so on. I heard that his wife was crying, but it was probably out of embarassment for her husband. And why do you call Mantis Banshee?
She called Mantis Banshee because she can.

Seriously, use the seach feature and enter "Banshee". That ought to answer your question. Enjoy the CP history!

I hate when people compain to ops. They do a fine job, and how the ride is isn't their fault. I usual get good conversations going with them(for a bit anyway, before I have to leave).

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.
