Hands Down

I'm not french, I'm aboriginal.

That is how they check for clearance?!? Talk about quality control. Boy, do I feel safe. ;)

Ok, I'll do it. I'll be the first to admit that, on 90% of the rides, I'm a "white-knuckler." I grab hold of anything I can and I DO NOT LET GO.

Hands up on MF? Try "MF'er NO!" Mean Streak? With all of that wood so close to your head, I'm not taking the chance. Raptor? Yeah, please make those little metal grips on the harness about 4" larger in diameter, that way I won't dig my nails into my palms anymore. I almost plotzed last year when the chick I went with had her hands up nearing the top of TTD, and kept them up like all the way down. Just a wee bit emasculating, by the way... :+/ (I was also shocked when she did that because I had to dadgum-near DRAG her onto the ride... Before that trip, it had been at least 6 or 7 years since she had been on a coaster, WELL before the 400' mark was even considered... she was scrred.)

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE coasters & thrill rides as much as the next junkie here. When I was but a wee tot, the Jr. Gemini was my best friend every Summer, and the friendship grew from there. But, for the love of Maggie, I ain't lettin' go. I suppose that's part of the fun for me. The feeling of clutching on for dear life. I guess it just adds to the fear or something.

Yeah, the pull-through on MF sure did work good.

I cant believe a coaster junkie like yourself keeps hold tightly of the lapbar. Its just a whole new thrill putting your hands in the air while riding a coaster. There is nothing like being in the front seat on Dragster keeping your arms high in the air the entire ride. Its like a whole new thrill(especially on the way dowwwwwwwwwnnn)...

3 Rollbacks- 2 back to back front row -dead serious- IT WAS THE SH*T!!!!!

Yeah, I know, I'm a rarity as far as coaster-nuts go. I get made fun of more than once a trip for going white-knuckle on EVERY RIDE.

When I rode TTD last year, I ended up in the second row of seats... I actually wished there was more to hold on to. ;+)

On the way down, it's all about clutching onto the bar and pushing back, just to be sure I don't fall out while I'm looking straight down. Like I said, I guess it adds to the fear.

To save just a tad bit of face, I do put my hands up on Mine Ride, Paddlewheel, and Space Spiral. Not Ocean Motion, though. I get spooked just sitting in the very last row of the boat. :+D

My first memory of riding a coarter was my mom telling me to "make sure you keep your hans up!" That's the "law" when I ride with my mom :)

This is arguable, but many people told me that the launch is the scariest part on Dragster which I totally agreed holding on to the lapbar. It was another story when I would hold my arms up as high as they could go. Now the scariest part of the ride is the fear of my arms getting chopped off by the yellow beams going down. I rode it 10 times last Tuesday and the beams got me everytime. btw I love the head chopper effects and out of all the thill parks I go to it seems like Cedar Point is the only park to have this cool effect(does anyone know any other park or ride that uses it?)

I don't believe it has anything to do with a law, although it is one of CP's policies (keep hands and arms down and inside the train). So if you're going to be shooting ride photography wouldn't it make sense to not advertise a train full of people going against this policy? Plus, it just looks better in a promotional photo if everyone's arms are down and inside the train.
