Hand stamp instead of using pass?

Last week four of us left the park to go to Soak City so we got hand stamps. When we came back to the park entrance three of us still had good hand stamps. My son's must have washed off. He was asked if he had a pass which he did. The pass was scanned and he was allowed to re-enter.

Even if i leave at 9pm i get my hand stamped. I can never be to sure that i want to leave. Its almost like Millennium Force is pulling me back through the front gate

Cedar Point stamps the underside of your right forearm. If your washing that, then I don't know what to tell you. Besides the fact that my stamp has survived Soak City.

Sadly I have found myself scrubbing up my whole forearms before as we do when we prep for surgeries...it's quite pathetic :P

Anyways back on subject, yes get the stamp, it can come off, however keep your ticket recipt or your season pass handy in case. I have had mine come off after doing a full day of water activities out on the lake (water ski, ect.) and it did come off, but just whipped out the employee ID and got back in. Always good to have a contingency plan

All parks have that seasonpass rule of only being used once a day. I personally don't see why its a problem, as you walk out the exit the person is right there to stamp your hand and if you are too lazy to wait the extra second to get it, you should'nt be allowed to re-enter! I believe theres a big sign at the exit saying you must have a hand stamp to re-enter. I know all Six Flags parks do.

It's not a problem. It's just unnecessary. Being annoyed by unnecessary procedures does not make one lazy.

Last year at the end of the season I went with one member of my household to the park who accidently picked up another member of my houses pass instead of his own. We realized this mistake once we got there so we decided to give it a shot using the other persons pass regardless of the picture and it ended up working although the two look nothing alike so I would say the pictures obviously do not do much good. However, I'm wondering if the hand stamp deal has something to do with tracking the average amount of days that a season pass holder comes to the park in order to set a price point or some other data collecting effort that could potentially be skewed by using the pass multiple times a day.

How would using a pass multiple times in one day change the metric of how many days a passholder is coming to the park?

If it does, your database queries are wrong and your developer should be fired.

Your case was most likely the result of end of season f**itol being taken by the turnstile staff prior to that shift.

Well it makes much more sense that it would be a programming issue as opposed to a reused id issue because even with the stamp, if I got it a little wet and pressed against someone else I could transfer it and that seems easier to fake than the Id photo. And if the computers were attempting to count various factors relating to passes and overall guests one metric could be incompatable with another.. All I'm saying is I don't think it relates to the photo. Software miscues are a daily issue at my place of work and regardless of how many times the developers try to fix it there is no solution except to do pieces of it manually. Maybe it's the same. Ill ask why today when I'm at the park.

I would think that CP would want to scan all re-entry into the park to keep track of how many times peopel leave the park and what times of the day it is. Help them figure out how many people are potentially leaving the park for lunch/dinner or other reasons. That being said, I dont have an issue about getting stamped when I leave even though I have a season pass, I dont see the big deal. Get a stamp and move on.

Well I asked around to see if employees could give me an answer. The person selling tickets, the one scanning them and the person stamping hands all said that they did not know why.

I personally like the hand stamp because when i leave the park i can leave my pass in the car and not have to worry about losing it while riding and its one less thing in my pocket. I'm not one of those people that brings in anything i cant fit in my pockets!

I wouldn't leave my pass in the car as I use it for discounts throughout the day.
