We went and did early entry at the front gate. We usually do the marina entrance to hit MF but wanted Raptor since the rain might spoil the 9pm walk on's. We wanted to ride as many rides as we could before the rain hit. Weather Channel on line predicted a t-storm around 630 and we got a ride on Magnum right before everything closed at around 630. Raptor 1, MF 5, Maverick 1, MS 1, Magnum 1. 9 rides in 1.5 hrs-not too bad. After a donut at Donut Time We decided not to stay since it looked like a wash and my son did not have a rain coat, we left at 7pm. Still within that short time we got more rides than some of our summer day trips.
Anyone else make it there tonight? How did it go after the rain started?

Well I guess I'm going to give some props to the weather forecasters. They called this one exactly right, as early as Monday of this week. Glad I skipped this weekend, as Friday is, for me, the most fun of the three day weekend.
I went with some friends and we got on dragster and magnum before the rides shut down around 6:30. The rides started to open up agian around 7:30 but it was still a drizzle. Longest wait was 30 minutes for maverick because the had to get a bad car of the track. It rained the whole time but we rode the raptor max air wicked twister gatekeeper power tower millennium force and means streak in the rain. All the outdoor haunted were close but we went in zombie high school Erie estate and internity infermory. All rides were open in the rain except for dragster magnum Gemini and mantis
also, they fixed the restraints on gatekeeper. i rode right side row 7 and there was no problem with the vets they didnt bother me or my friends in the 8th row eather.
I went on a "fluke" visit last night (normally have these visits planned) but was visiting friends in Huron closeby and decided to stop in. I'm glad it wasn't a normally scheduled visit because the weather sucked, there was a downpour after 7:00pm but I did manage to see the Sideshow of Magic in the Centennial Theater. This years version closely resembled last years w/1 different part. I did notice Raptor, Maxair, and Gatekeeper were all consistently running even in the drizzle. I left around 8:30 after getting some snacks. If you didn't go, you didn't miss anything, it was a wash.
I got there around 5:45, my brother and I got 2 rides in on Gatekeeper before 6:00pm, then one more just after. Loved that they fixed the restraints.
We then hit Maxair and went to Wicked Twister but there was a breakdown as we were waiting to get on. The rain came and we went back to the car and drove around to park in Soak City.
While most of the rides were shut we hit up Dodgems, Matterhorn, Cedar Downs, etc. By this point the front of the park was open so we got on Blue Streak and Raptor a couple of times then hit WT. Then the real fun started.
Rode Millenium Force 6x in a row. They were letting people walk straight from the unload right back into the station. Went to the back and rode Maverick 3x. Rode Mean Streak twice (red train, empty, in the rain = rough ride). Went back and hit Maverick one more time and finished off the night with 4x in a row on MF. Pretty awesome night if you didn't mind the rain.
Also checked out a couple of haunts, Zombie HS is an upgrade over Club Blood.
My brother is a genious BTW. He brought two sets of Ski Googles to wear on the roller coasters in the rain. That's the way to ride!
Only thing I missed was TTD and Magnum.
In spite of the rain it sounds like many of you had a good night.
We rode most of what we wanted to and wanted to do the outdoor haunts but were afraid we'd waste an hour just to find they didn't open. We noticed GK running around 7 while we were in the car and I wanted to get a ride, but my son would have been soaked. We have CP rain ponchos but he refused to wear it so we skipped GK. Since the haunts never opened, I'm glad we bailed after all.
Last fall we didn't know about the rain procedures and assumed the coasters would be down and bailed on at least 3 weekends. One Friday we went anyway and discovered that they reduced the number of trains and had them running. MF, Mav, MS, Rapt, BS and Maggie and of course WT were running. We also got 4 trimless rides on MS and it was much smoother, had air time and was a blast. I wish it ran like this all the time.
I'm glad you guys had a good night. :-)

We got delayed out of OKC but still had wheels down at Detroit Metro by 9. Made it by 1140 in time for 4 gatekeeper rides to finish out the night.
Today so far I've gotten 5 Maverick rides during ERT, 7 Magnum rides and a Power Tower and Raptor so far today before the park started get real busy.
Last night was a GREAT night to ride coasters! I love coasters in the rain and after the initial downpour around 6:30 all of the rides opened back up around 7:30 (excluding the ones that are closed on fridays). Ended up riding Gatekeeper 16 times and Millennium Force 16 times.
The longest wait I had last night was for errie estates and I waited a whopping 5-7 minutes!! It was a GREAT night to be at the park if the rain didn't bother you. I managed to get 3x on millie, 2x maverick, 1x mean streak, 2x raptor, 5x blue streak, 2x gatekeeper, 2x wicked twister, and 1x power tower. I came at 7:30 and left at around 11:40 so I think I did pretty well!
