Halloweekends, Sunday 10/3/04

The weather was perfect for a Halloweekend...chilly morning, and a 60 degree midday, along with a bright sunny sky made for the perfect fall visit to the park. Being my last visit to the park for the season, I was looking forward to getting as many rides in on my favorites to hold me over through the off-season. When we entered the park through the soak city gate, we noticed that Dragster was cycling but not clearing the tophat because of the cold weather. So we decided to start with a chilling ride on MF. Granted, 40 degrees is cold enough for October, but moving 93 mph through the cold air really wakes you up. From MF we ended up getting a pretty good streak of rides for the time we spent in the park...here is the run down and wait times in minutes:

MF: 3 (10, 40, 20)
Magnum: 5 (all walk on)
Dragster: 2 (20, 45 with freeway...downtime)
Raptor: 2 (5, walk on)
Gemini: 1 (walk on)
Blue Streak: 1 (walk on)
Iron Dragon: 1 (walk on)
Matterhorn: 1 (haha)
Ripcord: 1
Sky Ride: 1
Balloon Race: 1 (the most nauseating flat ride at CP)

The highlight of the trip came on our last MF ride of the day and of the season. I have worked on MF all summer, and rode the ride over 90 times this summer, and what happens on my last ride of the season with some new crew members?...thats right...they tried to assist me with my seat belt and asked me to pull more slack on the belt...I had clearly 2 inches of slack but I was asked to pull a bit more...this just shows that no one is immune, even the MF crew...This new policy affects us all! HaHa...

And for those of you who laugh at the fact that I rode Balloon Race...I encourage you to ride it and spin the balloon as fast as possible...it will change your opinion of it...and while you are at it...ride Drummer Boy at MIA....Almost as fun as snapping the flyers at PKI!...

Overall it was a perfect end of the season trip. It was nice to ride Dragster a few more times before Kingda Ka becomes the tallest and fastest SBNO in the world. I didn't get to go through Fright Zone or Carn-Evil like I would have liked to on a Saturday Night, but I picked a Sunday for the lighter crowds. Now I must play my RCT 3 demo until the full version comes out...and get ready for the dark ages...also known as the off-season...

I have to ask, is it always that empty on Halloweekends sundays? I've heard about 5 trip reports from the past two sundays, and the park has been empty... not asking anyone to predict crowds, but just getting an average answer. :)

And WHO introduced you to all of those fine rides? That's right ;).

Very glad to see you had fun @ the Point for your last visit of the season.

The Balloon Race is nauseating just running the thing and watching everyone spin themselves sick. It was much worse to ride it. :)

Sunday was a great day for me. I ended up getting 4 rides on Dragster and the last one was the last ride of the night!!

The old west was never that wild. I had the last ride on Maverick!!!
