HalloWeekends Saturday, Oct. 2

My friends and I made a descision to make the 20 minute trek to Cedar Point, and arrived around 8:00. We did not go with the intention of riding rides, we wanted to do the HalloWeekends activities.

Starting off the night, we headed towards CarnEvil. This little section impressed me, the short clowns at the entrance stalked the female member of our group for a good amount of time, and scared her senseless. The clowns in here are cool, there were a few scarier looking ones, but some were just odd. My man has to be Monkey with Cymbals Man though. What a cool guy he is! (seriously)

After CarnEvil, we went over to Lair of the Vampire, which we had already done the Sunday before, but there was new people in the group, so it had to be done. I am glad we did it. Much better at night, maybe casted better? Within the first 20 seconds I had been scared twice. The guy with the magnets on the wall has yet to be effective, and wonder if they'll ever get him workin properly.

CarnEvil again, this time to search out Monkey with Cymbals Man and stalk him. I scared people when I was emerging from the fog, and I didn't mean to. My friends cracked on me for that one - "oh man they musta saw yer face, hahaha!" - but life went on, and so did we, to the Fright Zone.

What can I say about the Fright Zone that hasn't already been said? Amazing atmosphere, lighting is terriffic, plenty of creeps, etc. etc. This is just the greatest part of HalloWeekends, and much better then the dreaded WereWolf Canyon.

For the second year in a row, it seems Cedar Point has dropped the ball on this one. A onderful idea that has been poorly executed. There was no fog in some places, they need some way to cover the pots on the bottoms of the trees, as it does NOT look like a natural forest at all that way, it looks like a trip to the gardener. Cheap wolf costumes, and this year "Ranger Rick" was missing in action. I did, however, like the new addition to the 'Canyon.

The barn was great, scared me more then the rest of the 'Canyon. The pig people are much, much more frightening then the wolf people. The hard, driving rock they were playing added to the barn as well, creating a disturbing mood. Then again, when you have pigs butchering wolves in a barn, it will be disturbing with nearly any musical selection. I wish the barn would have lasted longer then the 'Canyon.

Back into the Fright Zone, many of the people have since dispersed and it also seemed that there were less Screamsters. I began a lighthearted conversation with my friend, we passed by this area of dense fog and BAM!, outta nowhere this guy in a gas mask and a jester hat pops out, causing both of us to jump! We had to thank him and whatnot, as he was amazing. Exiting the Fright Zone, we headed over to Magnum.

Magnum had a wait in the station, and my posse headed for the back of the train, 5-3 and 6-1. Late at night, that second hill is serene, overlooking the lake in an eerie silence. Not too mention, I swear the ride was trimless. Best Magnum ride ever.

Exiting Magnum, we decide to beat the traffic and leave an hour early, and stop on by the Arby's before the highway. We did a lot in 3 hours, and left more then satisified. CarnEvil and Lair of the Vampire are 2 amazing new additions to the already amazing HalloWeekends lineup, while WereWolf Canyon needs to be tinkered with. Heading up to Cedar Point for a few hours, that, boys and girls, is the beauty of a season pass.

YEah agree but i still love the fright zone. WHen i went Oct. 2 it seemed like that was less people when i went in the fright zone. CarnEvil was cool to but i really dislike clowns after i saw the movie It. Also Lair of the Vampire is awesome that was my first haunted house and i liked it alot.
