Halloweekends-Need Info

Hey all,

My name is Ashley and i just got a call from Cedar Point about becoming a screamster this year. The only problem is I also work at an Ohio zoo, and am not sure as to whether my schedule could coexist with that of a screamster. I recently discovered that at some point (if not now) housing for those living 25 miles or more away will recieve free housing after labor day. Is this still correct? Also, if you speak to someone over the phone do you still need to attend the open interview times? Lastly, when it comes to the character you portray, do you have to supply your own costume or is one loaned/given to you? Thanks a bunch!!

Housing is free, you just have to have a $100 deposit on the room which you will get back as long as when you leave the room is clean. If you have been hired in already then you do not need to go to the in person, but you will need to attend the training. We supply all costumes for you, you will be measured and they will have a costume for you, you can have your own but everything about the costume needs to be approved by the park.

Following up on what Zeek said, if you spoke to someone on the phone and they did not directly indicate you've been hired, then I believe you do need to attend the open interview. If you're unsure, you can always log into Job Net and check your status. If you're still under review, then you've not been hired yet.

Additionally, they're typically pretty accomodating if you need a day or two off during the season for your other job. Obviously with only working a maximum of 21 nights, it can become an issue if it's more than a couple of days. As Zeek said, you're supplied the costume unless you want to supply your own and get it approved. Your character may be somewhat limited by the costume you're assigned or the specific room/scene you end up in, but for the most part, you are free to mold your character in any way you see fit.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
