Halloweekends Crowds

Hey I'm planning my first trip for holloweekends this year and I'm wondering if Friday or Sunday would be better to go. (I know Saturday is packed). Also what part of halloweekends would be the best to go? Like in september or october and if october would the beginning or the end of October be better?

Friday vs. Sunday:

Friday has all haunts open but reduced hours (6:00 - Midnight) and limited ride availability (Most big rides and a small assortment of mid-sized and smaller rides).

Sunday does not have the outdoor haunts (execpt the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend) but an almost full day hour wise (noon - 9:00). All the rides are open.

Which day you choose (Friday or Sunday) depends on what you want to get out of the visit - haunts or rides.

September vs October:

If you are going for the haunts I personally like to give the new screamsters a chance to get into their groove and be at the top of their game. Its not bad in Sept but it is better in October. (Although that could just be me being in the Halloween Spirit more in October.)

If you are going for the rides then September might be a bit more stable weather wise.

Go on Friday. Most of the major rides are open and all houses and scare zones are open. If its your first time going to halloweekends you HAVE to go Friday for the best haunt experience.

it also isn't all that crowded on Fridays, at least from my experience.

Thanks I think we'll go on Friday that sounds much better. O and do platinum pass holders get In a hour early on the Fridays during holloweekends?

^ I'm not 100% positive, but I believe so.

The outdoor haunts are open on four Sundays in October, the 9th, 16, 23rd, and 30th. The 9th until 10 PM, the rest until 9 PM.

Early entry is indeed in effect for Halloweekends Fridays.

I didn't know that about Sundays. Is that new for this year or had they done that in the past? Either way that is great.

Is there anything you guys recommend doing or like doing differently since it's halloweekends?

Last year was the first year of doing the Sundays after Columbus Day (Columbus Day Sunday has been included since the days when Fright Zone was the only outside attraction). In 2009 the outdoor attractions were open on closing day (Sunday) for the first time.
