I think its becoming obvious through the use of common sense on at least where the new "zone" will be at...I think the long-awaited use for the island is coming into play...which by far would be the best location in the entire park for a new haunted attraction...even better if they can use low-lying fog to cover the water around the island...think about what a great picture it would be to see the paddlewheel boats cutting throught the fog as the sun sets..
And I agree with Walt, don't come on here acting smug (Zeek) because you know something super secret about the park...cause guess what: like Tony said, it'll be announced pretty soon anyways..

I wonder if they will have MF running if they do have something on the island?

Im pretty sure that CP does not plan on closing its headliner ride during Halloween.
If you look closely on the ride, you will see chain link fence around the low clearence areas, leaving plenty of safe room to have a house.
Lets also not forget, there are props showing up back there now too (just pay attention when you are going through the turnaround on the island closest to the main midway.)
Last week while riding Paddlewheel Excursions, I saw two survey stakes on the island. There was one across from the island near the turn of Snake River Falls too. The seemed random and may well be part of something that is not very significant at all. If your at the park ride PE and have a look.
I'm not sure if those are the same ones I saw or not, but all the way back before WWL was removed, I remember seeing stakes on the island. The may have been by the bears. If those are the same ones, they've been there for at least 2.5 years.

It's not a matter of acting smug. When you're an employee of the park and you know of something new going on, you don't mention what it is. It's not my job to tell what is going on, but I can fuel the fire in your imaginations. And you can be upset with me that I say just wait and don't worry....but lets be honest here, when you see a stick in the ground with a flag on it or happen to notice new dirt or a spray paint mark on the ground....you automaticaly make asumptions that a 500 foot monster is going in. I'm just saying if you sit back and wait, and not try and make assumptions and go investigate throughout the park, you won;t let yourselves down like most did with Maverick. You thought it was going to be some monster or something taller then what it was and with that a lot ended up being dissapointed it wasn't what you wanted. So you can call me smug, but I'm an employee and I'm not telling anything of it, I'm here to egg you on......but if there is any other questions pertaining to Halloweekends, I wil gladly answer them for you.

With the topic in mind. I have personally never been there for this time. Would it be too much for my neice who is 7? I just dont want to scar her from thinking cp is scary.

^Absolutly not, the scare zones and all the houses except the kid one probably are but the parade, and the wizard show are geared towards her and you still have the rest of the park. Since your focus on avoiding the scary stuff I suggest not going Friday night (not many rides open and all the scary stuff is online pretty much from opening till close) and if you can avoid Saturday (because its crazy crowded) and go Sunday. She will love it.
You can avoid the "adult" haunted areas very easily. And there are quite a few kid oriented Halloween attractions. It would be worth taking her.

Even if you want to walk through the adult zones...you can ask anyone of us and we'd gladly come out, and we take our gloves off to show them that we're still a real person and let them touch the mask to see its fake and we can walk you guys through the zone and none of the Screamsters are alloud to scare you when we're with you, that way they can see what is going on in case they may like it and want to go through later on.

Thanks for the info. Like i said i have never been to the halloweekends. I might have to do that. Oh one other thing. the wife is terrified of zombies. Are there many of them or does it differ from season to season. I know its probably a stupid question but i dont want to put her mind into overload.

I guess it depends on what you would call a zombie. Are you talking Shaun of the Dead zombie or Nightmare Before Christmas zombie? I know there's like and undead bride and similar things, but nothing too gruesome. Just make her watch Thriller over and over before going to the park.

Im talking like resident evil, or dawn of the dead zombies. Monroeville mall walkers. :)

There's nothing that detailed. While the make-up job done is very good, most of the scares are still surprise scares, as opposed to gross-out gore "scares". So its people banging on bells/garbage cans, sliders, jumping out of shadows.

Yeah we definatly arent gorey at all. We pride the scare factor that we give on the performance we do. I'm sure if you took her to like an entrance of a zone you'll see one of us clearly and that will help decide if we're too much. It is an amazing experience though to come through the zones knowing that we're basically normal people that you see walk the street and with just putting a mask and costume on we change completely.

Any involvement of the island has to be a good thing for Halloweekends, but I too would be disappointed if the boat ride was shut down because of it.
If you want the gore stuff Kings Island would be the best. They do the complete oposite and try and scare you by being gory.
Let's Get Weird.
One thing I hope they fix that happened to my daughter is. She was too tall to go in Boo Hill and we didnt have smaller child for her to go through with. The employees that were runnning the line were VERY strict about not letting her go thru. She was 8 and tall for here age, she didn't to do the Adult Attractions and from the previous year had her heart set on going Thru boo hill. Well as you can tell it broke her heart that she couldnt got thru. My Girlfriend and I would spend the day with her doing the kid rides and kid halloween activities, then come Night time, She went back to Lighthouse point and hung out with Grandma and Grandpa while we did the "Adult" areas. They definatly need more kid things during the day and to be a little less strict on the height thing for boo hill.
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
