halloweekends?

I've never been for halloweekends, but could only plan a trip for the last weekend of Sept. Could someone tell me what it's like? Crowds? Any/Best way to avoid the crowds? Weather? OK for kids?

I am planning my first trip as well and asked a similar question. I have found that Saturdays are very crowded, Sundays are semi crowded and Fridays are pretty decent. I am planning on going on a Friday, mid September. Weather is unable to predict. I wouldn't plan on soak city? As for kids that is a good question, I would like to know as well. I will definitely post a trip report after I attend this year. By the way, I have heard that Columbus Day is crazy so dont plan on that if possible.

^ You have that pretty correct! There are many things for kids to enjoy during Halloweekends. They have their own fun house and shows to watch. They can also dance with the not so scary monsters on the main midway. After 8 o clock on Friday and Saturday nights is when the real monsters (Screamsters) come out to get "in your face" scares! They are located in 4 seperate zones which are off of the midways except for Fright Zone which is located next to Millennium Force on the Frontier Trail. So I would advise you NOT to take that way to get to the back of the park if you have small children! Other than that... there are 4 haunted houses and all of the rides to enjoy. Halloweekends is the best time of the year to visit Cedar Point. Have fun!

Does anyone know what weekend has the Pro-Medica discount is this year. I always go with a group of friends because they like the discount they can get, but none of us seem to be able to find the date.

If you're there the whole weekend (Fri, Sat, and Sun) then you won't have a problem experiencing everything. You can bet good money that Saturday will be packed if the weather is good. Take advantage of Friday for riding the big rides and going through the scare zones that aren't open Sunday. Relax Saturday, go into the park and see what the crowds are like. Check out the haunted houses around the time that they open before the lines grow. If you have kids, don't miss the Monster Midway Invasion parade. It runs down the main midway all the way to Gemini at 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays. At night the outdoors zones are open again. It really depends on how old your kids are and how they react to such scares. Sunday's seem to be getting busier as the years of Halloweekends go on. Certainly not as busy as Saturdays but moreso than they were a few years ago. As for the weather, it can still get very warm at the end of September.

Best guess for weather.

Crowds will depend on that. If its 75 and sunny, expect it to be packed. If its 35 and rainy, it won't be that busy....maybe.

This will be my first time attending Halloweekends, so I have a couple of questions for all of the pros out there:
1. do Platinum Pass holders still get an hour of ERT prior to park opening on Fridays?
2. which haunts are "must do" and which can be skipped in the interest of time?
3. do they alter any of the rides in any way?

thank you in advance!

As of this year, it seems as though all haunts are "must do", with the exception of the Undertaker U haunted house. They do not alter the rides in anyway. However, since Terror Island takes place on the Millennium Force island, you can enjoy a fog filled ride at night time.
