With the pacing of that Summer Season starting to hit full throttle, one starts to wonder what is up next for the agenda. I do not know about you, but the thought of Coasters by day, and terror and screams at night is something that leaves me counting down the days till September 13th. Just wanted to raise some few thoughts about this topic...
With the recent addition of Gatekeeper, we all know that Happy Jacks is out of commission. Though from interactions with some staff members last year, some mentioned that Club Blood was (and has been) on the chopping block due to lack of crowds. Some also mentioned bringing back Happy Jacks to replace Club Blood because it was always a favorite. I also know that during the press conference they briefly mentioned items about Halloweekends as well, but I am not exact sure about the details.
Also, I just love how you can visit the park during the summer and see some of the decorations of Blood on the Bayou, Cut Throat Cove, and even Eden Muse still in positioned. It leaves this creepy atmosphere of something abandoned, just waiting to return...
What are some ideas do you want to see happen during this year?
I'm pretty thrilled that opening night is Friday the 13th this year. I'm looking forward to another great season of screams.

Wow, I was just about to post a topic too:)
As for ideas, opening day while I was sitting, waiting on the transfer tracks, I thought to myself that IIwouldn't be surprised if they built a haunted house or an outdoor walk through through the area behind the games. I could actually see this happening and them replacing club blood with something else and keepin happy jacks at the gatekeeper area.
I think that Cedar Point should replace the Overlord as the "Head Figure" not because it is a bad idea, it has just gotten old. Especially because many parks have the same 'Overlord' Type. Maybe seeing a new character, like the Green Witch, or another that helps ties in the history of Cedar Point as well.
I would not be surprised if they make an "Exclusive" maze like haunt only available for paying an extra fee will be installed this year. It was highly successful at Knotts, and I would not mind paying some extra money to have a personal scare.
The idea of upcharge mazes intrigues me. I've read some really good things about the one at Knott's, as well as the one Busch Gardens Tampa has. Is the "going alone" idea enough to make an upcharge unique, or would it need to do more to set itself apart from other mazes? In my mind, you'd definitely need a handpicked group of actors to make sure the scares are the best they can be.

I can just imagine him speaking for the first time and sounding like Bobcat Goldthwait.
I do Remember Lee Alexakos (Something like that) saying at the PointBuzz tour in March that, "There will be something new for HW this year."
I'm not positive, but I think that was her response to someone asking if Happy Jack's will ever return.

My first year in Fear Faire there was a guy I would partner with a lot that did a cross between Bobcat Goldthwait and Gilbert Gottfried. He was rather entertaining!
As far as the overlord, I too would like to see a revamp of the character. It's a great idea, but seems very amateurish. Work with an actor to creat a character than can be performed live dont use a prerecorded track with over the top gestures. Use the new space, the luminosity stage and surrounding area could make the overlord ceremony into a show. Have a good Improvisational actor that can change it up every night interact with the guests and screamsters as he walks through the zones. At this point he is like any costume walking around Disney, kinda boring.
Halloweekends Screamster!
Fear Faire 2010-2011
Maybe having a personal show that explains who the Overlord actually is could be entertaining and really bring the character to life, and at the end of it, the Screamsters can appear surrounding the audience, really putting the last "nail in the coffin" to a terror-filled night. To me, the Luminosity stage last year felt like they were trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. They tried to have all the Screamsters come out and watch the overlord like years before, but the stage could not hold all of them and some got stuck on the ground, it it was just sometimes very cluster train wreck.
I really hope Happy Jacks comes back. That haunt was awesome.

Nobody beats the KI overlord. He's just awesome.
You know, I've heard this before, but despite all my attempts, I've never been able to find a single video of him on YouTube.

This isn't going to turn into a Screamster attention whoring thread, is it? Because it's barely June.

Yes, they should do this with happy jacks :)

Not at all. More than likely it will be just me and Ralph commenting on this page. Even I thought this was too early seeing as the park is still getting things going for the summer season.
11 years.
It might seem early, but Knotts just announced their newest Maze for the 2013 season "Forevermore." It's this Edgar Allan Poe theming which has a lot of promise. I am hoping to start seeing construction or clearing for the new Haunt starting soon, even though I know that might seem like wishful thinking.
