I was at Cedar Point Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday evening while walking past the old offices my son saw lights flashing from inside. I told him I'd read about that on PB and that it led to talk of a haunted house. Thursday we went past and there was a sign. The sign said CP is preparing a new HW attraction. Your quest room will be ready... Sounds like a haunted hotel.
Minutes later we were standing by Space Spiral and I saw the old Disater Transport entrance open. I could see as zig-zag maze of new plywood walls starting just inside the door.
Excellent, two new zones this year :).
Even though Halloweekends is the finale of the season, I always look foreward to its rapid arrival. T-minus 2 months folks.
I have never been to HW but I think that I am going to attend this year. It sounds neat but it seems to be very popular. Can I ask why exactly everyone looks forward to it? What exactly goes on. Regardless, you have my interest!
CP Nut
-Free houses
-Lots of Fog
-The complete lack of crowds (on Fridays and Sundays)
and the best thing about Halloweekends....
-5+ hours of night time riding due to the earlier sunset and later closing
I am looking forward to the lack of crowds. I will have to go on a Friday. Are there any weekends that tend to be less crowded than others? Early Oct...Late Oct?

^ It tends to be less crowded in September when it first kicks off. The closer it gets to Halloween, the more crowded it will get.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most!

Tony just put up a picture of the sign outside the old corporate building is now on the blog.

^^My qualification was not Saturday. The only time I go Saturday is if Im with someone who cant go on another day. I would much rather go Friday night, and even Sunday (and miss the outdoor zones) then go on a Saturday, especially since the two Sept Saturdays that used to be borderline ok now have a concert scheduled during them.
I think we may be looking at a new haunted hotel themed house. The sign posted on the blog looks like a buttlers suit and says your guest rooms will be avalible in September and you are invited.

Does anybody know what is "inside" the old frontier skyride building? Could that be big enough to have a "Haunted Hotel"? I've been trying to figure out if Tony's "Hmmm" was just random, or if it was inserted at a specific point in the thread. That point being right after the skyride building was mentioned.
Any thoughts?
If I'm not mistaken I think the sign is in by the office building near Planet Snoopy. This is the building. I think it is a realy good building for a haunt.

I think a hotel theme would be awesome. The sign looks like it could be between Ocean Motion & Planet Snoopy. Try to avoid the Saturday of Columbus Day Weekend. I asked a ticket person and she said the park had 54,902 people and she says they start not letting people in after 54,950. It was so crowded there was a 2 hour wait on Mean Streak and 1.5 hour on corckscrew. Fridays are always the best even though some of the good rides are down. :)

Great research!
I still think that Tony was trying to "say" something about the old frontier sky ride building. I guess it will be project 2010's house or at least a part of it's queue.
Are you talking about what Tony said in the Mystery Construction topic?
If so I don't think he was talking about Halloweekends, I think he was trying to keep up the speculation.

Pointperson has the correct building. The sign faces the main midway. It's right outside that building and you can see it from behind the building that houses the Hat Rack, pretzel stand and airbush t-shirts. It's around the corner from where the first picture shows and along the right side in the second view by those old red plastic seats which are not in the picture.
I'll say that I HIGHLY doubt the Ol Frontier Lift station could be retrofitted into a haunted house. Considering half of it is a bathroom, I don't think just the top floor would be sufficient enough for a good length haunt.
And I as well noticed the new walls at DT the other day. And as I was looking at it I thought to myself how the DT queue would be a FAR better place for Club Blood with how well the outside entrance could look like a club entrance. I'd sure love to see something like that happen instead of a refurbished Pharaohs Tomb.
P.S.- For anyone else who's as into haunts as I am, I'd thought I'd pass this along. Next time your going down 250, take a peek at Ghostly Manor. They're completely redoing the outside with a Castle Facade. It looks wicked awesome. Here's some pics I took just to wet yer pallet.
