Guests of Exceptional Size

Which rides, except Millenium Force and Raptor have you seen have the most problems
with guests of "exceptional" size? Why is that?

Mantis-Seat Belts

I still don't understand why they don't have a seat outside of Mantis like they do Millennium Force and Raptor. It seems to me that its harder to fit in Mantis than those two.

How to solve the problem? Put the fork down!
B&M rides in general have that problem...

Also S&S Power rides and anyting requireing over-head harnesses..

Well except for Iron Dragon.. Pretty much just about anyone can fit in there....

MF 2001 - ???????
The only ride I've ever had problems with is CCMR. Also Blue Knight, your comment is offensive.
i find the mean streak seats to be pretty tight.
Offensive, but funny.
Disaster Transport can be a problem for a lot of people, and Mine Ride too. Always cross your ankles!

Remember, "exceptional size" can be a lot of different things -- not just overall weight/bulk, but also height, shoulder width (with horsecollar restraints), etc.

I fit into MF & CCMR just fine, it was the two B&M's where I needed "assistance" to get the seat belt to buckle. I didn't quite need a "big boy" seat, but I came pretty cloce. I have lost some weight since then, and can buckle my own B&M seat belt, thank you.

Me too Soggy, that is one of the main reasons why I lost weight, too Ride B&M's again :).

One thing that I always try to do is sit in the front part of the individual cars of all of CP's Arrows. The diffence is like night and day, I don't even have to cross my legs for CCMR if I sit in the front of the Cars .
hey Blue Knight! I can't fit into the Antique cars and am very uncomfortable even on the train and Paddlewheel....and no amount of fork training will change that. It is a matter of how far my knees do not bend. That makes just about every RIDE in the park off limits--and on particularly painful days shows like the Imax and Centennial as well. The question was legit, but I wonder about your sensitivity!!! I do hope you never find yourself with a debilitating condition...and perhaps a bit more aware ...
Hey Blue Knight, I'm not posting this to complain about your above comment. I'm just curious if your screen name comes from the drum and bugle corps of the same name. I spent three great years (well mostly great) as a member of Northern Aurora which sadly no longer exists.
Natas, admitting it is the first step to recovery. ;) j/k, I spent 2 summers with the Northern Aurora also.
I was soooo happy when I went to SFoG two weeks ago and had no problems buckeling the Seat belt on Batman, I have been trying to loose a couple inches so I dont have to worry about it.

CrystalKat,

How is Disaster Transport a big problem?
Also I would think rides with seat belts would be a problem, or are they long enough for just about everyone? Here in the southwest, no rides really use seat belts like CP does. The only ones i can think of are Desperado, and the little connector belts on Batman, Riddler, and S&S rides here in Nevada.

Why so many orange belts?

Okay people,,,what are we talkin about here? How big is too big? I am a bit large around the middle and have visited many parks and had few problems...my question is...well Mantis...can a fat chick fit in that get up? (looks like a tight squeeze for the slim)...I went to disney last year...never had a problem...Kennywood...no problems,,,never needed any kind of "extention belt or anything...gimme an idea...cause if I think I wont fit....I am not gonna attempt to ride! Thought I read somewhere (cant remember where) that there is a maximum waist size to ride Mantis? Anyone know?
thanks!
A concerned fat chick wishing to avoid humiliation!
Oh yeah!
Hey blueknight! You may have to pry my fork out of my cold dead hand!
lol....seriously..being larger isn't much fun...!
though I think I tend to think I am larger than I am.....And some people medically speaking will never be of normal weight..(I unfortunatly don't have that excuse on my side...tis my love for food that has done me in!)
Just wondering if I need to go on a crash diet...we are heading to cp in two weeks...I can lob off a few inches before then if I follow some whacked out diet plan!
wish me well!

I will have to agree-offensive yes
but funny! (and at least you were lucky Kruggie had a sense of humor about it)
My fingers STILL hurt from the seat belts from last year cramming people in!! I would definitely try my best to let them ride.....
Unfortunitely for some "larger" women Raptor was a prob because women tend to carry more back and front. Neither Raptor or Banshee-uh-Mantis have a "weight" limit but do state something "due to the seat design people of exceptional size may not beable to ride" or something "kind" like that.
My suggestion with Raptor is an easy one
there is a "test" seat right at the entrance-use it. There is nothing worse for a guest (who has waited over an hour to ride) to just find out they cant ride, as well as an employee (or 2) trying to get the guest in, killing an interval and stacking. Mantis doesnt have a "test" seat (stand?) anywhere but does seem to be more "forgiving". There is one seat on Raptor I think on train 2 (someone help me here) seat 8-4 the cushion thing on the shoulder harness almost gone-it seemed to be less of a problem for them.
Just a thought Kruggie unless they repaired the harnesses (doubt they did) you may want to wait for that specific train!
Good Luck! :)

If I cant ride it, rope it, pull a trailer behind it then I dont want it!! Cowgirl up!!
I have decided that I shall wear a girdle ten sizes too small,,,,then of course for your benifit,,i shall bring along a cro-bar so that you may pry me out of the seat when all is said and done! I will probably sweat off a few inches out of fear just waiting in line. Seriously though I don't think I will have a problem,,, I dont consider myself to be that fat,,though I worry because one never sees themselves as others do! I am about fifty pounds overweight,,most of which sits right at my belly,,(thanks to my three kids,,all stomache muscle has dissappeared with the slashing of the scalpel) but my flubber is forgiving and should squish into a seat with little effort! I consider my self to be of Roseanne Barr size,,,not her biggest...we are talking post gastric bypass and add ten pounds!
thanks for the help!
Hey LuvRaptor, I know what you mean. When I was at Kings Island two weeks ago, the wait was about half-hour to 45-minutes and a larger guy couldn't fit into the cars once he got up there. I felt bad for the guy, but it's not his fault for the crappyness of the cars. I barely fit into those seats, which were the first one's I had ever had problems with myself...and that's only because I was too tall. But I think that Cedar Point should have seats for all rides at the enterances to the rides to avoid people being humiliated because they couldn't ride.
