Hi, I'm Katie, and I'm currently filling out my application when the job of Guest pet/ farm animal attendant popped out at me. I am a real animal lover, and the job definitely sounds right up my alley, but I'd really like some details on it. If you could tell me what it's all about, and your opinions on it, I'd really appreciate it! :)
My 2nd choice I'm thinking will be ride host, with my third being ride photo associate.
Some info and comments on those jobs would be nice too!
Pet Check is near the Bay Harbor restaurant & the marina and guests can drop off their dog or cat for $15/day while they enjoy the park. You would be taking registrations, checking the pets in, walking, feeding, watering and cleaning up after them. Think kennel attendant.
Farm animal attendant works the petting zoo back by the frontier village and takes care of the baby goats, chickens, etc.
My guess is there are very few of these jobs, and they probably go fast.
There are way more ride host jobs, and they run the gamut from kiddy rides to the super coasters.
Many rides have photo associates, who basically sell the packets of photos & key rings after guests exit the ride.
My general opinion is that any job where you get to enjoy the greatest amusement park in the world every day is a great job. Outside of that, it's what you make of it.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!
Last I knew, Pet Check was run by either admissions or parking/tolls as part of their regular rotations. I don't believe they hire anyone dedicated to just that, but I could be wrong.
Pet Farm is on the Frontier Trail and largely involves tending to and cleaning up after the animals, as well as interacting with the guests who come to see them. A couple good friends of mine who loved animals have worked there and enjoyed it. The hours usually aren't bad either, as I believe they open at 11 or noon and close at either 7 or 8, although occasionally you'll come in early to clean. The crew is small (I think maybe just 6 or 7 people max, possibly even smaller) but that doesn't mean there's no chance at getting in.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
