Sandcastle is a nice place to work. At times very busy and at times very slow. It is the nice location in terms of view on the Point which is relaxing.
Have a great time!

that is good to hear considering most of the reviews ive read have been bad and i keep telling my self its just bc no one ever takes the time to write postive things:) Im looking forward to it thanks for replying to me :)
Its not a bad hotel, just sorta old with thin walls. most complaints you'll get deal with the bugs and the people "playing football" above a room or doors slamming at the ends of the halls. I think people also expect alot more out of a Suite hotel. Its a fun place to work and you have a newly promoted manager that should do a good job.
Here is my take on Sandcastle. If they had it to do over again they would have built a better structure. Bigger and better I'm sure. The thing is, prior to Sandcastle Cedar Fair was only marginally in the resort business.
It was all about the park and then they had this quirky old hotel called Breakers that was left to fail away. Sandcastle was built without Kinzel and the gang really knowing how big the potential was for overnight accommodation revenue. Of course, the first phase of Sandcastle was an overwhelming success and the heads in beds kept coming with the second phase (built somewhat better than the first.)
Next to Mr. Kinzel's own backyard, the site for Sandcastle is probably the most valuable piece of property on the Peninsula. There is a water view on three sides, the beach, and the "quiet" away from the park proper. (Although, Magnum does make its presence known.)
I wouldn't be surprised if Sandcastle was gone in the next 10 years or so and a more significant structure took its place.

I worked in reservations which made reservations for sandcastle. We like to call it scandalous suites. it's ok, just a lil older and not kept up as well as some other places.
I always figured it would be demolished before Bon Aire or Cedars due to the conditions and overall complaints, but they recently put alot of money into it so I guess its staying.
Ok, wait a minute. It isn't the Ritz but it is a HECK of a lot nicer than Bon Aire or Cedars. Cedars? You've got to be kidding me.

sorry bad wording... Its got potential but it needs some TLC. Forsuch a prime piece of property and having to give out constant discounts, you could assume they could build a nicer place and charge more (especially now that the beach is unusable).
If they would do more cleaning and preventative maintenance it'd be a really nice place. Although it has improved ALOT the past 2 years. With new management in Accomadations hopefully they will give it some TLC (or AC!).
Cedars they'll keep as long as they can pack it with employees willing to pay. but yeah they are both worse than Sandcastle.
Amen and alleluia to Cedars and Bon Aire being worse than Sandcastle! And you just ain't whistlin' Dixie! LOL.
This is one prime piece of real estate that should improve greatly with the new promotions in Accomodations/Reservations, etc. I wholly agree...TLC and newfound ingenuity is all it needs to be restored for this season. :)
I lived in Cedars most of last summer, and didn't have too many complaints. Mainly because I got lucky and had a corner room in the back (#520, if I recall). So I had a brezze from two directions, a wicked nice view of the Millenium Force and a view of the Marina that Donold Trup would envy!
