So I went to school planning to go to Cedar Point today. It opened obviosely at 6, I did not get there until 7:15ish. I get into parking lot EMPTY! I was excited
So Kevin, and I get into the park and walk onto Raptor good ride always fun.
From there Maxair walk on, then WT.
Then TTD, Magnum, Skyhawk, MF, PT (both).
After all of this it was about 9:30 from here we had a Dragsterthon!
6 more consecutive rides adding up to 7 that night.
I was in line and talking to someone who I am prety sure is a pointbuzz member, just mentioned my ride count, and rollbacks.
Overall amazing trip to the point especially with how short it was.
This is where it gets terrible, about 15 minutes before closing I do a random check of my pockets. I notice that my car keys were gone!. I waited after closing for them to bring in found items, no luck. By now it was 1ish. I am still waiting (I am only 17) I have my mom come to get me. Polica, and I go to my car to check it still no luck. So I wait for my mom until about 2:30 then go home :( my car is still there. I had to work this morning at 8am which was terrible considering I got home around 3:30. I am just now getting home from work, called the park, and still no luck :(. So as of right now my car is at Cedar Point and I am at home in Cleveland. If you want to see it its the junker blue geo prizm in the 23 something area, it will be the last car there tonight guaranteed lol.
Well thanks for reading my ramble about my best/worst trip to CP :)

You didn't have a spare set of keys at home or anything? That does suck...
How long does CP security let cars sit there before they are towed or whatever? Any former security personell know?
Last public train of 2005 on MF!
Well I was actually going to get a new set today lol, I just bought the car a week or two ago. So not a second spare. The police officer told me it wasnt a problem to leave teh car there so I am not sure, I do not think they are in a big rush considering it is somewhat offseason. I am going to give them a call again sometime soon I think I am going to go out there tommorow for the day, and if they dont have my keys :( pay for teh locksmith to fix it. I heard for that it is around 100 dollars, anyone know of cheaper around CP area?
Well a locksmith could unlock your car for you, but how far will you get without keys to start the ignition???
I don't know about locksmiths, but car dealers can reproduce keys based on the VIN number of the vehicle.
Sorry to hear about your car/keys situation. I think I may have chatted with you Friday night. There seemed to be a lot of enthusiasts there riding TTD multiple times. I managed 10 rides and was on the last train of the night.
I'm planning to be back at the park again tomorrow too.
Hot wire it ;)
but good luck anyway :) *** Edited 9/17/2006 1:25:10 AM UTC by cedarpoint24/7***

There's one company I always see out there doing this (regarding keys), although I don't recall the name of the company, at the moment.

I was going to start a new trip report but pretty much everything was said here already. Just one note, The ride op's on Sky Hawk are awsome. I am a larger person who can't fit on quite a few things ( actually almost everything on the "Guest of Exceptional List"). I got the belt on Sky Hawk's test seat buckled, barely, but got on the ride and struggled. The ride op (I'm only giving a name because he made my trip to CP even more enjoyable than expected) Bert helped me get the seat buckled. Eventhough this required a bit more work than the norm, he had no problem at all trying to accomodate me. So to the crew at Sky Hawk on friday night, I would like ot Thank you greatly for you help and consideration that night.
car dealers can reproduce keys based on the VIN number of the vehicle.
Yep. I found this out the hard way when I lost a set of rental car keys at SFNE. Happily, National sent out a locksmith, and didn't charge me a dime extra.
cptroublemaker, I agree with you about Bert. He's very friendly and helpful. He's only been at SkyHawk recently. He's worked Dragster most of the summer, and was back at Dragster on Sunday.
Drew, I think we definately chatted in line for Dragster on Friday night. I was wearing a blue long sleeve Geauga Lake tshirt.
Did you finally get your car/keys situation taken care of?
BTW. Had another awesome day on Dragster on Sunday.
Keyless entry: the best invention ever. Throw the keys in the centre console and lock the doors! Come back to the car at the end of the day, punch in my code, and I'm on my way! When I bought my car it only had one key. It's a 1999 Sable and requires a transponder key (for those who don't know, a key with a chip in it). Finally a few weeks ago I got another one made, for the price of $75. The locksmith told me that by 2007 every new car made will have this transponder key system. It's a bit of a pain in the butt system, but I guess in the long run it is safer.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
!UPDATE!
Well it is now Tuesday, Monday I went to the dealer. I now have a key to HOPEFULLY work for my car. Now I need a ride out there sometime this week, bribing my friends is a must. I can't tommorow I work after school.
Mark, I remember the shirt definately. We were in line for the first train to be launched in the second, third row area. I remember that becuase I felt surrounded by fellow enthusiasts (lol). How ironic you said that about Sunday, I was there too. Yes it was a good day for Dragster. However, not my car I saw I now have a flat tire lol. Oh well I will take pump and work that out later once I get it home.
haha, yeah my truck sat at the point all night saturday and sunday nights, they did not care. I had it towed this morning.
