Great People You Meet At Cedar Point

I like SRB and have talked to him many, many times. Since we seem to target the same days when crowds are low, I'm usually marathoning rides at the same time as him also.

I can't say he's never been rude to people, but then I've been rude to people at various points in life like probably all of us have. I will say I've never seen him physically push anyone, not in my many years of riding with him. He definitely will put his hand on people's shoulder to get there attention to ask he if he can go past them in the station, but "push" is a real reach IMO, at least not on a regular basis. Again, I can only speak for the times I have ridden with him, which have been extensive.

He's a very friendly guy to talk to, and I think, gets a bad rap sometimes.

Now SR2 Chris (aka "Stinky") is a whole 'nother story. That guy will run you down with no apology and you'll smell wherever he touched you.

He's a douche. We're not all observing one-time isolated behavior.

It sounds like there is ample testimony on this thread, and others, that point in opposite directions. Maybe somewhere in the middle is closer to the truth, who knows?

I still say Chris is a million times worse and haven't once heard anybody disagree with me on that.

Single rider 2 haha...Sadly true. Single rider bob only had a few encounters with him. I honestly didn't care for either of them. I will say my favorite CP usual was Segway Guy...I'd love to see him and say hi again. He'd come up and watch dragster go, I'd usually stop and say hi on my rotations from Corkscrew to super or if I was heading on break. Really nice guy

I will give you this MaverickLaunch, when SRB is not trying to beat that one more person into the que and not trying to find a way to get on the ride one train sooner he seems like a decent guy. Sadly that behavior is the first (and often second and third) impressions he has given many of us.

Opening day my mom and I met a nice family. We were waiting in the GK entrance plaza in the evening, hoping the ride would reopen due to wind, and there were 2 kids in front of us. Later we found out they were 5th graders. And let me tell you, they're die hard coaster fans. It was fun talking to them while we were just standing around. Then 2 teenage girls joined them a little later (I think there was a brother/sister and then friends in the group) and they were fun to talk to also. The dad was also nice. I like it when you meet nice people in line and talk to them.

Last Friday, the 17th, while in line for Millennium toward the end of the night, we were behind a CP police officer who was off duty. He was nice and it was fun talking to him.

One family in particular that stands out to me is what my family calls the "Tye Dye Family." I think this was from my 1st or 2nd trip to the park (2003 or 2004). We were parked next to them, and every single family member was wearing a matching tye dye shirt. They were really nice. Well, all day we kept running into them several times. When we left the park that day, we saw a piece of paper under our car's windshield wipers. My parents thought it was a ticket, but had no clue what it was for. When we pulled it out and read it, we couldn't believe it. The tye dye family had left us a note when they went home. I don't remember exactly what it said, but something along of the lines of that it was nice meeting us and talking to us throughout the day. People like this really make amusement parks even better.

I had the unfortunate experience of standing in line next to single rider Kenny. He just never shuts up, and he thinks he knows everything. Fortunately it was a short wait for magnum, but seriously.

Two years ago, i was waiting in line for MF, it was a good sized line, maybe 45 minutes. I began talking with a guy and his son behind me. It was their first time at Cedar Point and on MF. His wife refused to get in line, so they got in line while she waited at the exit.

We were in the station and next ones to get on the train, them being in the line in front of me. The train that just left the station stopped on the lift hill about 250ft up. About a half hour passed and they gave up waiting for it to be fixed, i was waiting regardless. About 15 minutes later they started taking peoples names that were waiting in the station still, maybe 20 people, on a clipboard for an exit entry when they got it running.

Later on when i went to use my exit pass, i ran into that guy waiting by the exit for his son to get off the ride. He said he just got off it, but his son wanted to wait out the front. I offered him my exit pass for him and his wife to use, but she refused to go. My wife started chatting with her and convinced her to ride, he insisted my wife and her went on the ride together. He stood there in total shock that i gave them my exit pass and thanked me many times. I told him i have been on it 100's of times. It was great to be able to make someones day like that!

I will admit my waiting in line with Mr. Skyward at Vertigo in 2001 during Millennium Mania was actually entertaining.

Creepy, but nice guy. Just does what he does.

Mr. Skyward is certainly a bit of a legend around there. Although so far this year I've seen him at Meijer more times than I have the park.

I wonder what would happen if someone said "no, I dont want you to ride with me" to SRB as he is searching for another single rider in the front of the line to join up with.

In my experience, you usually don't get a say. He was already next to me and buckled in before I sat down. Didn't even see him coming. Like an empty seat ninja.

Single Rider Bob is a nice guy actually. In my 2 years of service at the park, I never saw him push anybody in line to be the first to ride. Let alone push his way through while waiting for other rides. But hey, that's just from my experience. I have found quite more "douchey" people in my lifetime.

Single Rider Kenny is one of the most annoying people I have ever met.

He's a nice kid though, and he's actually got some developmental problems from what I understand, and the social interaction he gets in the park is apparently helping in that area, so I'm okay with listening to him.

thedevariouseffect, exactly! Mondays are the worst! Nobody likes Mondays! Especially on Halloweekend Saturdays!

Mean Streak Henry was nice yesterday..

Mean Streak Henry is quite a gentleman. Like some of the other riders, he lives in the KOA up the street during the summer, and comes to the park everyday. He said his wife loves Soak City, too.

He rode Mean Streak over 3,200 times last year. My back hurts just typing that fact.
