I can't stress how important it is to get comfortable shoes. Keep in mind that there's a good chance you'll need to invest in a second pair by mid-summer if you're on your feet all day. I had the arches worn flat on mine by late June, and after a week or so of that, could barely even walk anymore. Also, if you're in a position that requires you to be out in the rain, you probably want a second pair right off the bat so you'll always have something dry to wear.
