If you want decent anything (besides coasters) Sandusky is not the place for you.

We like the Thirsty Pony but it can be a bit pricey. As long as you're not looking for something unique, IMO, you can't go wrong with Buffalo Wild Wings.
Thirsty Pony didn't seem pricey at all to me. In fact, so long as you know what to expect (decent bar food), I thought it was a pretty excellent value.

Breakfast--Jolly Donuts or Dirty D (Diana's Diner on 250)
Lunch--Too many choices
Dinner--Pony, DQ, Chet & matts, or longhorn
Corkscrew, Power Tower, Magnum, & Monster/ Witches Wheel Crew 2011
If you want cheap I recommend Fusillies the food is cheap and you get unlimited breadsticks and they are really good

Millennium rides 63
Mean Streak rides 153
MeanStreak, what age group are you talking about? One that comes to mind for all ages is Old Dutch. It's not far from Cedar Point.

I'd say Thirsty Pony is pricing is fairly comparable to Bdubs but with a larger menu. Although the wings (Fricker's for those of you familiar with the chain) aren't nearly as good.
Chet and Matt's is usually a good bet as well. My last visit there ended with my party walking out before our order was taken due to absolutely disastrous service, but hopefully that was an anomaly. If you go during the buffet hours, it's usually pretty solid.

I must have the worst luck ever when it comes to Chet and Matt's. We've gone twice now - first time, ordered a pizza; second time for the Sunday buffet. Neither visit impressed us, but the buffet experience was particularly bad. They couldn't keep pizza supplied to the buffet with any consistency, and what they did manage to get out seemed not very fresh at all.
The only saving grace was that the non-pizza breakfast items were a nice alternative.

A few of the restaurants on the property will knock your parking fee off the bill. Famous Dave's has always done so in the past.
Never had a problem at Chet and Matt's but I have never done their buffet...love their pizza, best in town....but absolutely NOT a romantic dinner place....
Want a truly romantic dinner? Pack wine and dinner in a picnic basket and walk all the way out to the end of the breakwater in Sandusky Marina...most amazing place to watch a sunset and see all f Cedar Point light up slowly across the bay...bring a blanket, its all rock...and a flashlight if going at night...not CP marina but Sandusky marina on Meigs
Or while there, try the superb Pier 684 restaurant
Excuse me for bringing back up an old thread, but the recent new thread about "park food you'd like to see" reminded me of this one about places to eat outside of the park.
A few months back I posted here that Weazy's Italian eatery was a great place to go for an awesome meal. It turns out now that Weazy's has closed for good and Danny Boys is moving back into the space. I haven't had Danny Boys yet myself, but I hear it's every bit as good as Weazy's and am looking forward to having a meal or two there next summer.

Dirty D's...ex employees will know :P
Taco Fish..another good one
Sonic was a personal fav..
However best place is no longer there, Cooker was by far one of the best restaurants up there, and actually one of my favorite restaurants I've ever been to...Those that tried it may know

Never made it to Weazy's, but Danny Boys version 1.0 was awesome! Hopefully it's still just as good.

A little off topic, but one thing I can never seem to find is a decent bar while I am in Sandusky. Any advice?
Depends on your definition of a decent bar. Personally, I like the little hole in the wall dives. The Sail Inn is a fine little neighborhood establishment on 1st Street. I believe it is at the corner of 1st and Meigs. A little further east on 1st Street is the Eastside Cafe, which opens quite early (7am, I think) for the third shift traffic from all the shops in the neighborhood. This place also has some interesting memorabilia, news articles, maps, etc. on the walls. And yes, they serve breakfast. Great place for breakfast and a beer before hitting the park. Downtown Sandusky has quite a few good holes in the wall as well. Names are eluding me at the moment, sorry. Margaritaville out on US6 is a happening place. Hunter's Sports Bar (don't let the name fool ya'. It's truly a dive bar, and a true gem at that.) out on Venice Rd between Sandusky and Bayview is a great place! It is directly across the street from the very busy Norfolk Southern (ex-NYC/PC/Conrail) mainline as well, so you can sip your beer and watch the big trains roll by at frequent intervals. I am partial to this place because they've always treated me well when we would stop the train for a coffee or a pop if we were approaching a red signal at Bay Bridge. Continue west on Venice Rd to Bayview and there are a handful of small establishments as well. Sandusky is typical of most any town of it's size: a good bar is really quite easy to find.
Crowbar...lol lots of...memories xD

I've been studying the Berardi's menu someone mentioned before. That's darn good menu, most of it they make themselves.

I like Eats N Treats, Dianna's Deli & Restaurant (one of the few open 24hrs), and Thirsty Pony.
