Golden Ticket Award

I too would have to agree with CPTwister and Raptor1117. TTD is not worthy of a Golden Ticket award. It is a good coaster, but not even close to the top. CPTwister nailed it right on the head about people thinking CP can do no wrong. I would have rather had a great woodie, like Raven or Legend. But CP can't market those as tallest or fastest, thus proving further that CP is a business and does not build rides for 'us'. They build rides they know will bring in the masses and give them a great return on investment.

Cedar Po!nt, please stop because I'm sure people don't want to hear you talk, especially when you are insulting so many people. I come to this site to read when I get bored, and I don't enjoy reading your comments. And, looking at the time, it only took you less than three minutes to make that crappy reply to cheese on a stick for the little comment he made. Calm down.

LOL, after reading your responses to my post on this thread I think this post is incredibly hypocritical. You are the one that needed to resort to vulgarity (with the asterisks LOL).

CP is a great park, I have never denied that. But some of you worship it (its almost scary). I honestly think CP could have a new policy of having attendants fart in your face as you enter the queue and some of you would say, what another great concept for CP! Once again showing why they are the best!

Disagree with me, but some of you are WAY out there. To get pissed at people for being disappointed and upset that TTD is not running when they go CP and calling them stupid for thinking it should be running is just amazingly ridiculous.

I have been to CP twice this year and knew both times TTD would not be running. Still it is disappointing to look at it all day and wish it was running. Why is that such a difficult concept for some of you to grasp? I have also noticed that most of those doing the insulting at those disappointed have been on TTD or go to CP all the time. It is alot easier to be critical of those that are disappointed when you have been on it or will get alot of oppurtunities to ride it. Just look at it from a balanced perspective and not the skewed fantatical CP fan perspective.

I agree. Some people on this board do worship CP. People, i love Cedar Point, but i can also see when they have made a mistake. CPTwister, take a look at SFMM's "X" people on this board bash Six Flags becasue its not working. Saying how Six Flags cant build a coaster right, and how the park sucks. But when CP has a coaster not working its becasue "Its a coaster unlike any other" or "Its new, its suppose to have down time" or "This caoster is so advanced, its to be expected to have down time" well you can say the same thing about "X"

Now back to if TTD should be in the top ten. i dont hink so, why? Becasue its only a 20 second ride, and i dont think any coaster that lasts that long should be considered a top ten coaster. Like i said before, after riding it for the FIRST time i was all for making it #1, but after you ride it a couple times, the novality wears off. You ride MF and its a great ride every single time, and never gets old, thats the sign of a true Top Ten Coaster.

Why do we always have to get personal on these boards. Please, stop attacking eachother, it dosen't ever come to any good. We all need to take a deep breath and get some maturity. Yes its a new ride with experimental technology so there will be down time, as with any new ride. Yes, there is alot of downtime, more than some people expected, and it is taking away from the ride. Both are good and valid arguements. I feel that only after a season or two, once the ride is "broken in" will we see how it is really going to run. Until then, your guess is as good as mine. All I ask is that we remain civil in here, ok guys?

I agree that CP needs to get that running good, but this a new technology and there are going to be problems, CP is about the people and they try to please everyone with every coaster they build.

Wow, people are allowed to have their own opinions. Really, it's not that big of a deal.

Personally, I think it's pretty hard to top MF.

Also, Raging Bull should be ranked higher than 14th. :)

Well heres what im saying, Can any one honestly tell me that MF is any less boring than the first time they rode it? I know i cant! But with TTD my second ride wasnt nearly as much fun as my first.

Wait wait wait... My question is, if you're going to bother complaining to us, who are sick and tired of it and don't want to hear it anymore, why do you continue to do so?

I'd give up my season pass to go one day without someone coming on this board and complaining about it. Why complain on this board, how will it make it work any better? We're not the people who designed it, most of us are only the people who love the coaster. Like I said we're not the people to complain to, so stop.

I have no problem with that and agree completely. I normally dont even post on here but people getting ticked at people for being disappointed has brought out the worst in me. But I think it has also shown and brought out the worst in people on the other side of the argument also.

I think all of us are disappointed TTD is not more dependable. I think most of us think CP is handling the situation fairly well currently given that it is a very bad situation.

Top Thrill Dragster is an amazing ride, as MF is and as CP is the greatest park ever. I have never attacked someone on these boards before because I think there losers if they complain and insult TTD all day. I'm just feed up with it. So theres MY two cents. I'm out of here.

I've ridden TTD 5 times, and every time has been amazing. I love MF, but I don't get that same feeling of awe after riding it as I do from Dragster. I'd put this ride in the top ten in a heartbeat if it was up to me, and I'd have to seriously consider voting it number one. And just something to note about TTD's downtime, it's only been down for 2 weeks. I know this is more than average, but if you compare it to some other advanced rides of their time (Superman, X), this isn't much. I'm not trying to "worship" CP or anything here, but come on, give 'em a break.

Yes it is like every other arguement. Somebody complains about TTD being down and how it is all CP's fault. Then some other fanboy comes along and says how not CP's fault, and brings up a various assortment of stupid comments to prove his point. Both don't really know what they're talking about, and the topic ends up closed. That will prbably happen very soon.
