As a kid I jonesed for THE annual family electrician's picinic CP trip. It's really nice as an adult that I can go whenever I want; not being held back by anybody or circumstance. Last year, when I took my daughter and a friend of hers up, I ended up holding their things while they rode (since my recommending they leave it in the car fell on deaf ears). Needless to say, going up alone beats that.

My Dad did not recommend, he demanded we leave our things in the car. We never had a choice. Today, as an adult, I think what a smart Dad I had.

I've been going alone lately and will be going alone this Sunday-Tuesday, if you need someone to ride with hit me up!
I'm at the park alone today and tomorrow morning. If anyone wants to meet up, send me a private message with your contact info!
I agree with what others have said, it is nice being able to make the exact decisions you want when at the park solo, and there are plenty of interesting people to strike up conversations with while waiting in the queue lines.
Four discount funday tickets to Cedar Point: $130.96
Overnight stay at Breakers Express: $70
Riding rides the size of skyscrapers while "legally" breaking the local speed limit: Priceless

I'm sure there are, but I don't even talk to the people who go with me, while I'm in line. If I'm there alone, conversation is the last thing I'm looking for.
My hubby and I try to go every year and make a couple days of it, but he's not a rider. He walks around with me for a while then goes and hangs out on the beach while I go ride on my own. It gives us both some time to relax on our own and enjoy our trip. I have no problem walking around on my own, and I can take time to enjoy what I want (shows, shops, etc.) Later we go to dinner and enjoy the evening together. Works out well. 😊

You sound delightful.

That is smart a Dad. Taking it to an even smarter level is to make the kids walk 2 miles back out to the car to store put their crap away. :)

You still at the park? Been here all day, in Dragster line. Dragster broken down, again...
Why would wait in line for a broken ride all day when there is so much else to do?
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Worded it wrong, but got right up front after 1 hour waits and it broke down twice, well second time was for wind. Great time though

Ron,pushy single rider, would wait all day in the 'not running' TTD line just to get his TTD ride count up.

^^ That's why I will never wait more than 15 minutes for Dragster. We've been right at the gate or once even on the train and asked to get back off too many times.
^^Guess he doesn't have anything better to do.
^Yep. Been there. Life is too short to wait in the Dragster line. I'll invest no more than a half hour. Since the odds are not the greatest of actually getting on the ride.
This year was the first time I've gone alone and I wasn't sure how it would go. Turns out it's now my preferred option. Sure Breakers is more expensive but overall you meet great people and even make some new friends. In fact I got to stay longer because I didn't have to work around other peoples schedules/ budget.
Even met Pete! He wasn't hard to find either :P
^Isn't it great? When I was younger I basically wouldn't do anything without a group of friends or at least another person to go with me. As I got older doing more by myself became the norm, not because I couldn't find anyone to go but because it was nice to be able to do what I wanted without having to please others. The great byproduct of that is being able to really enjoy what it is you are there to do. Looking out from the side of a mountain by yourself is a feeling unlike any other. Enjoying the sound of an ocean without the disruption of someone talking or a cellphone is amazing. I still love taking vacations with friends but gone are the days of waiting for everyone to have the same time off. Now when I want to take a trip, I go. Traveling alone, especially by plane for me, is a wonderful experience.
Went to Universal Studios tonight for a couple hours by myself. As soon as storms started moving through Orlando I grabbed my raincoat and headed to the park knowing it would be empty by 6. Grabbed a beer as soon as I got there and enjoyed walking around while it rained. Didn't even ride anything, just took in the sights and sounds of the park. Those are things that really come alive when you are not with anyone else.

I agree. Sometimes the best time in a park. And so relaxing.
I happen to be at the park alone today. (My date bailed, something about the heat and chance of rain.) Whatever. I got up at 5 to drive here, anyway.
It's working out so far, I've been on several rides already and the park doesn't appear to be very busy yet, and very well may not be later, either.
And it's not like I'm not used to it, 90% of my visits are solo and I've always been ok with it. One thing's for sure, no one ever says "Hey, isn't that your third french fries today?" Or "Do we have to ride Tiki Twirl again? Really?"
Lawdjesus, it's hot and steamy here. Almost 90 already. I'm sitting under the stadium trying to cop a breeze. At least nobody's complaining about it to me but me...
