Going to Cedar Point for first time this summer. Any tips?

We are going to Cedar Point June 12 and leaving June 15. This will be my first time there and I don't really know what to expect except a lot of fun! Can anyone give me any helpful tips?

Also I live in Louisiana and never been to Ohio before. How is the weather up there. Should I pack for warm weather or cooler whether?

Weather in Ohio is weird during the summer months especially near the lake. Expect humid days with wind off the lake making for cooler nights. I'd suggest bring a light coat or sweatshirt for the cool night times.

You will have time to do everything in the park during your stay. Will you be staying on property or not? Something you may want to look into is the platinum pass so you can have unlimited parking, cedar point and soak city.

It's even weirder in the winter lol. 50 degrees and sunny last Friday, 23 degrees with snow, freezing rain and sleet today. Mother nature is a tease.

I think I'm starting to jones for some MF. :)

Stop off at a supermarket before you hit the peninsula and grab some bottled water, snacks and sandwich fixings. It will be so much cheaper that way since you are staying so long. Of course, you'll want to sample the awesome food selections at the park, as well. Try the pretzel stand next to the scrambler on the midway, it's divine! Also, rides up toward the front of the park tend to get less busy in the evening, so I would focus mostly on frontiertown and the Dragster midway (the top branches if you're looking at the park as the letter Y) during the day. Also, stop to take in the exhibits in Frontiertown. Too many people race by them between their ride on MF and their rush to Maverick.

Having visited the park years ago, I can say, without hesitation, that you will have a magnificent time. Millennium Force alone would be worth the visit, but now TTD and Maverick are also beckoning you to visit. Magnum is also a wonderful ride, a tad rough in places, but wonderful none the less.

As for Mean Streak.....well.....good luck. Maybe you'll catch it on a good day. lol

I'm heading back to the point in July, can't wait! To me it's better than Disney.

My tips would be start your days in the back of the park and work your way to the front usually equals better lines and also wear sunblock and definitely stay hydrated, I know your going to have a great time and have fun

I WILL ALWAYS KICK THE SKY.

Thanks for all of your tips! :) I'll keep them in mind. Only 3 days left, I'm sooo excited!

Start at the back of the park with Maverick and work your way forward; that way you'll avoid most of the long lines. Raptor's line is shortest in the evening, so I would recommend not riding it until the end of the day. If your looking for a good place to grab a quick meal, Coasters Drive-In Restaurant has great burgers and malts. Enjoy your trip!
