Hi :)
I'm a student from Poland. I signed up for work & travel program and I'm going to work in Cedar Point this summer. But there's one problem. It will be my first time in the USA and I have no idea how to get to Sandusky from Cleveland Airport. I've read about greyhound buses and amtrak but I don't know how to get to their stations. Could someone explain me what should I do step by step after getting off a plane ? And one more thing. Could you recommend me a cheap hotel near the airport. I have to spend one night in Cleveland because I'll arrive very late ;)
Thank you in advance :)
I wish I could be more helpful on the details, but I know lots of people have taken the bus and train to get to Cedar Point from the airport, so it's certainly possible to do. You'll likely need to take a cab from the hotel to the bus or train station, and then another cab from your drop off in Sandusky to the park.
I do seem to remember hearing that the train from Cleveland to Sandusky comes through at some crazy early hour, like 3 or 4 AM.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
With the hassle of getting from the airport to the train or bus station, the poor bus and train schedules from Cleveland to Sandusky, plus trying to accomplish that being in a strange country, I'd recommend checking out a car service.
These guys are in Sandusky and will pick you up at airport and drop you off at Cedar Point. It's around $95 one way, which isn't cheap. But figure the cost of bus/train ticket, taxi once you get to Sandusky, etc., plus the convenience, and it might be worth it. And with direct transportation, you might be able to skip that hotel at the airport, saving there too.
