Getting tickes/Early entry in advance of arrival?
My family is looking at booking a Halloweekend Sunday night on the property but arriving Saturday afternoon and staying off property the 1st night. Is it possible to buy the discounted tickets either in advance or on our arrival and get the early entry Sunday morning before getting into our room? The hotels are only offering the rooms at that time (not the packages) and note that tickets are available at the hotel desk.
I know you can get the tickets and early entry stuff from the hotel the morning of the day you're going to be checking in. I don't know of anyone who has tried to pick it up the day before, so I have no idea whether or not you can do that.
Are you planning your trip for Columbus Day weekend when the park has the later (10 PM) closing time on Sunday? In the past that has been the only Halloweekends Sunday they keep the hotels open, although I have no idea if that's changed for this year.
Yes, we're wanting to come Columbus Day weekend. Not really my first choice bur due to my schedule it's the only Halloweekend I have. I may back things up for a Saturday in the park but I hate Saturday crowds and I'm an early bird, not a night owl. Noon (or 11a) is just too late for me to get started. From the trip reports though it may not have made much difference last year.
The Sunday of that weekend is generally a safer bet than the Saturday if you're looking for lower crowds.
For early entry you must check in at the CP hotel first. At that time they will give you a resort pass good for early entry. Your entire party must be with you at the time of early entry as you only get one pass per room.
Check in could be anytime Sunday morning. You may not be able to get into your room until 4pm, but you can check in and get your pass before and enter the park. Discount tickets are available at check in, at least they were last year. I think the park opens at 11am that Sunday. Early entry is an hour before that. See the CP site to make sure.
Depending when you arrive Saturday and if you want to go into CP, you may want to buy Starlight tickets. They are good for admission to CP after I believe 4:30 or 5 at a lower admission price. See their site for the correct details.
Does CP offer a Starlight discount during HW? I haven't been to the Point since HW 2002. Without a darkride, there's been little incentive for me until Pink's. Sad that it takes food, not rides for me to come back.
