Getting in line right before the park closes

Okay so me and two of my other friends are going to the park next monday, August 3rd-4th, We're going to get into the park around 430 on monday and we're trying to hit the three major rides (millenium, ttd, maverick) we were going to either do the millenium or ttd, as our last ride of the night, but we have no idea what time to get in line, the park closes at 10, and ive heard that if you're in line for a ride by the time of the parks closing, you are allowed to ride. However someone told me we should get in line at either of the ride about 9:45. So my questions are,

Could we wait till about 9:50 to get in line for a ride?
What ride should we ride last, millenium or ttd?

Yes i believe you can get in line at 9:50. Also remember there will be the hot summer lights show going on, so they cant kick you out or anything. Can someone else back me up here because im not completely sure........

when you get in line do what i do and let people cut in front of you so that you are the last ride of the night. By then its easier to leave and you get to stay in the park much later than closing. Its a bunch of fun because sometimes the park is almost completly deserted.

Actually, you can get in line all the way until 10:08, usually. I normally try to get in line for Millie at about 10:05 and I'm normally on either the last or 2nd last train of the night.

Yes, they will not kick kick you out of the quene like kennywood does on ther esmall attractions. They are ussualy really nice and will keep the quene open 'til 10:05 or so.

Major attractions are not supposed to close their line until 8 minutes after closing, at least that is what I was told when I worked there.

If you or others in your group are not season pass holders, I would suggest going at 5 instead of 4:30. This way you can save $15 a ticket with Starlight Admission tickets.

Although TTD has run much more reliably in recent years, I still don't think I could save it until last without worrying that it would go down. I hope that's not the case anymore, but the first few years of that ride tainted me.

^But why is someone only riding TTD once in a day anyway??

We already got our tickets, on sale for 25 dollars for the regular ones, in case we get there early. Thanks anyways though

tigellinus - Because riding TTD more than once a day is a waste of time. :)

Indeed, my threshold for TTD being a waste of time is a line longer the 30 min. I basically only ride it at opening and only if it actually opens on time.

The only issue with waiting until the very last second to ride is if you have a seat preference. When the ride operators want to go home & there are only enough people for one train to run through, you all cannot ride in the front car, or the back. So be sure to get there a little earlier if you have a preference, they will tell you to move from the front line & fill out the rest of the train for the last run of the night.
