getting a bit concerned on hiring

I filled out an application on the first day they were available (i checked every day, excited and hopeful for a job this summer) and it hasn't even been reviewed by anyone! I'd a new hire, so i don't know if maybe they are taking longer to hire new people, but i'm getting a bit worried. do they have some kind of criteria for hiring people? I'm in my late 20's, but i would hope age has nothing to do with it. i'm kind of grasping as straws as to what is going on.

I did the same thing. I stalked the page until applications were up lol. So you are saying your status is completely blank. And seen by no one?

How would they know you are in your late 20's if they haven't reviewed your application? Age has nothing to do with it, they hire all ages.

heyChar, when I login it says something like "most spots will be filled by may and it is available for hiring managers"; however it has not been reviewed by anyone.

Bluestreaker, I don't know how they "search" through all the apps they get, there could be a filter for any number of things. Also, it could be that they can view it all they want and simply not check a box letting the person know they have done so. I applied last year and I was told that a certain hiring manager who was willing to hire me never even had my app available because the hiring managers in games never "released" it to the next choice I had picked which would be his department.

I'm not sure how it works, but I am excited to potentially work out there. however, each day there is no call or change when signing in to check, the excitement turns to concern. I didn't know if there were many other potential new hires having the same situation, if maybe they are still doing hiring of returning ppl and won't be getting to newbie hiring til april?

I think you should call them. When you call them then asked to speak with human resource, I believe that's what it is. Tell them that you want to know more about the status of your application, and if you want then tell them what your status says and ask them what does that mean.. I am about to do the same thing. The number is (419) 626-0830

I would call HR, there might be something wrong with your application.

Im a rehire hopeful and i heard that new ppl are getting first pick so i dont think thats a problem. Also they are very busy, when my friend told me about hiring he told me to go to foods because they need loads of ppl so where u picked could also have some affect. Just be patient i know it sucks but trust me its just busy now

Hey there!
I'm a returnee (year two) from Sweep/Admissions! I just wanted to let you know that you should DEFINITELY CALL THEM!!! With all the work Human Resources as well as ALL departments in Cedar Point, it can be pretty easy to get lost in the system. Just about a month ago I brought some newcomers (boyfriend and sister) to one of the interviews and got talking to one of the Managers, and they said that themselves. Another thing is that depending on the department, they tend to get a little bit behind and you may not get a call until closer to opening day.

NOT ONLY THAT but that calling them DEFINITELY shows them that you are completely interested in the job, and your chances of being hired right then and there automatically increase (As told by Matt himself).

So don't be disheartened that they haven't reviewed your application; it's good that you keep checking! Go ahead and call them and let them know that it doesn't look as though it's been reviewed and if there is any way it could be in the near future!

SAME GOES FOR RETURNEES THAT HAVE NOT YET BEEN CONTACTED!!!

SO CALL THEM!!!

Hope this helps, and I hope to see you this season!

:)

Chances are something may have been flagged on your app. The most common one I saw during me year of helping in the hiring process is employment gap (AKA long gaps between jobs). If you do have these gaps in your job history, I would call HR and explain them.
