Getaway Guides

I just got mine yesterday and I'm in New Jersey. Raptor Man- Either they just simulated the trains are they dispatched them intentionally at the exact right time. I was thinking that myself. If you go to page 14 it looks like the lady in the middle sea on Power Tower has her restraint fully up. Anyone else notice?

I live in NYC and probably wont get mine till june. I dont know why that is, But every year it comes VERY late. I usually get a friend to mail one over to me. I think season pass holders should be the first to get them.

I was dissapointed that it does not have a coupon for "Ride and Slide" this year. Since I only go once a year for a few days, it was always the best deal.
RC: if you are a AAA member, your local AAA office should have them at around the same price as the Resorts guests pay.

I usually buy R&Ss to "treat" friends I bring to the park. It's just about the cheapest entry you can get into the park, and it lets us duck over to the waterpark if we want. Plus, I get to take two friends on different days for my $60-whatever, which means that I get to go twice.

There is some nice stuff in those Getaway Guides. I got mine on the 6th. I want one to use and one to keep nice. Maybe I'll request one to someone elses house.
RC, you can also get discount tickets at Meijer and I believe the discount is the same as the AAA one.

I have ordered my getaway guide but have not received it yet. I am planning a trip now however for my college graduation, and I need to give the people going prices now. Could someone with their 2004 guides please tell me if there is a buy one starlight get one free cupon like in last years? Thanks so much!

I got mine a couple weeks ago, it had been mailed to my parents house (Lansing MI). I wonder if my apartment and my house will also get one then... I am glad to say that I am in 3 of the ride photos. I cant believe that they are using the same ride photos from 1999!

That Power Tower harness looks a bit scary....she is a skinny guest. We better ask the photo family when we see them..

As for the trains to be dispatched at once would take some work (and you never know if Dragster will roll-back!),(Mantis is LOADED!!??), but I think it is a great picture! Kudos to the photographer!

Raptor Man--Yes, this year's Getaway Guide is significantly smaller in size than previous years. I have guides for every year dating back to 1994, and I was quite surprised by the size this year. But I'm not complaining--it's good for the environment. Fewer trees to cut down! I usually get 4 or 5 guides, one which I keep in pristine condition to add to my collection. Several of my coworkers come to me throughout the summer asking for discount coupons, so I always try to have a supply on hand for them. By the way, does anybody know if Cedar Point is planning to do the Bay Cruises this year? They experimented with the idea last fall, but I see no mention of it in the guide I just received.
I think they will do the cruises again. There is a link about them on their website that gives a number to call for reservations. Here is the link:

Everyone is holding on on all of the coasters. Do they have a specific day when they take all those pictures of a certain group of people and tell them they all must hold on?
Did any one notice on Pg. 14 at the very bottom of the page, but right above the number there is no line for TTD, meaning that it was closed on that day. I thougth that was kinda funny.

--------------

How many day till opening day?

TTD had a few days early on in the season last year where it was closed for filming and not mechanical. They filmed for commercials I know, so possibly those pictures were taken those days. They did use a lot of pics last year from media day on the website ads, etc. where all riders were on the restraints. I know there are some on here who were at media day last year of course, so maybe they can say if they were especially told that day or not to do so.

Can you get the ride and slide tickets at Meijer too or just the general admission?
I've bought the ride and slide tickets at Meijer a few years ago (before I had a season pass), and I believe they are selling them again this year but I am not positive.

Man, they should really sell some of those aerial shots in the Getaway Guide as a poster, or even as a larger photo. They're beautiful, I'd buy them... It amazes me how most parks don't sell some sort of photo or montage of the parks. A mosaic would be really cool too!

I agree with Shane. The Park could increase revenue by offering quality photographs and/or less expensive posters of images of the area for sale.

Those that have the bucks would buy photos for framing and teens would be the majority of poster purchases.

Why they haven't offered these products makes no sense to me.

I would buy posters if they have them. I made some myself by taking some photos and blowing them up huge. My dream poster would be a picture of Milleniums lifts hill before a big thunder storm hits. It looks so cool. I hope to take this picture this year sometime.
