Gemini 100 (ok, for me... only 25) a.k.a. Where th

Let's set the stage shall we. Last night I got zero sleep. On the way to the 100, my car starts acting really funny. (Conveniently pretty close to Sandusky.. so as I couldn't, you know, turn around because my car had become unfit to drive). It was so bad, I stalled trying to park.

Ok... now for the day's events. I was running late so I hauled butt to the Gemini real quick... but to no avail, as it hadn't even ran any trains yet as near as I could tell. Made it there and promptly became a wallflower for a few minutes. Then Jo helped me out by asking if I was a GTTPer and then promptly introduced me to everyone there.

Finally, after much watching the trains go through their test laps while saying to myself "Dang, could've gotten a lap or two in on Magnum", we were rolling and ready to go. The first ride we made a bunch of noise, but it was to be the most I heard as we soon went into marathoning mode.

Things were slow going in the morning as they were only running the red side, and lotsa people seemed to converge on it pretty quickly. We were very happy when they finally got blue up and going (I wanna say 11:30 or a little after), but it still was slow going a few more rides until they open up the gate to the front. Then it was fast-loading time baby!

I took a break at around lap 20 cuz I was starting to feel a little off... no sleep the night before was beginning to catch up to me. I ate a corndog and had a Mountain Dew (with everyone teasing me a little) and then went back at it.

Then on my 25th lap I got stuck in the 3rd turnaround, luckily my riding partner (whose name escape me, though I can remember that he was wearing an ACE t-shirt... pretty sad considering I did probably 15 or so of my rides with him) kept me quite entertained. 20 minutes or so after getting stopped, we started moving along again and finished the course... not until after the ride op gave us a nice push though.

It was at this point I felt almost sick and decided what I need was a little nap to refresh me... so off I head to my car to nap... as I get there I realize something is missing... MY MUFFLER!

Ahh!!! So, since I need my physical muffler to take advantage of the lifetime guarantee, I abandon the 100 and go off in search of my muffler. Sadly, I was unable to find it alongside the road on my route...

Sigh... so I got 1/4 of the way there anyways.

I got my 25 marked down on my shirt... kinda wish it had maybe been more in the 70-80 range. Sigh.

Had fun while it lasted...
