Ello all.
My boyfriend and I decided to take the kiddies over to Geauga Lake last evening for the cheapo night fare. It had been years since we had gone and thought it might be a nice way to kill about 6 hours. We got there around 5:30 and was surprised to see that it wasn't a ghost town. However, large crowd did not = long lines. Yay.
I can't really ride many of the rides because of a bad hip but I have two newly 48-inchers ready to test their metal on something larger than a teacup ride. We first headed down to the Kid zone area and was pleased to see all the neat stuff they have for the tykes. They went on everything down in that area before my BF took them on the Americana. We pondered going on the El Durado before my oldest chickened out so we headed back towards the Frontier town area. I was saddened by the lack of flatrides in all the available space. It made me long for the return of the Rotor, the Musik Express, and the tiltawhirl. I also noticed that the Witches Wheel is missing.
The Dominator was down but the Thunderhawk was actually working. Spooky. None of the shows were going and alot of the concessionals were closed. We went on the Carousel, it seemed a bit slower than in past years and that was a bummer. We hurried the girls over to that Beaverland rollercoaster but as soon as the girls got in line, they shut it down. I then saw that the Haybaler was also closed. That sucked because it's one of the few rides that doesn't have me limping for the rest of the day. We decided to go on the Grizzly. I joked at the loading dock that I would be the only one that got wet. Too little did I know that that was the exact fate that awaited me. I got drenched head-to-toe when everyone else had barely a drop on them. Nice.
We then race back to the Beaverland that reopened and my daughters went in line. They closed it AGAIN. My weepy youngins sat next to me and we stared at the poor kid guarding the queu. Then we got to witness a drunken biligerant get into a heated argument with some VP/GM named Bill. Neither of them was being very classy therefore I took no sides.
Finally, the ride opens and my daughters go on it twice. We then go eat. $48 for 4 platters, 3 drinks, and some jello. Ugh. We decided over our expensive and cold meals that "next time", we'd bring a cooler and eat it at the picnic site.
We played some games and then the girls lived it up in that ball-shooting thing in the kid area. We avoided the other side for now, we will go over there on the next visit.
It would have been nice if CF would put some love and energy into that place. I would like to see some more flats(since I can only ride those), good shows, and beautification. Especially in the area where the El Durado is. That part of the park is so sad and bleak.
Kidworks...Foam Factory is amazing
My signature was edited because it was more than three lines. I'm naughty!
