If you honestly think that the highly concentrated smoke in the designated areas (which in all likelyhood will be no more than fifty feet from your pristine midways) is not going to disapate into the midways than you need to rethink the situation a bit. From my experience at Kings Island, designated areas do nothing other than make for a more concentrated cloud of smoke and stronger stench. I've heard this complaint from smokers and non-smokers alike.
The best solution would be to ban smoking all together in places like this. But, people have the right to smoke and I would rather have them smoke in a designated area rather than in line or on a midway.
The cloud of more concentrated smoke is going to be around the smokers in the smoking area, and I could care less if they breath it in.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Except that the stronger the source, the stronger the cloud downwind. And if the wind is blowing, the smoke won't stay around the source for very long, but will, rather, spread out down wind (possibly a midway). Leaving non-smokers to walk through a fairly heavy cloud of smoke.
So instead of people having the occasional single smoker to avoid, they have to now walk through a cloud.
And as I've stated before, smokers in line are in an area where smoking is already banned. If you are annoyed so much by it, report it to an employee.

And like I just said, The best solution is to ban it all together. But it's legal to smoke, so it wont happen anytime soon.
I think a designated smoking area can work. Look at holliday worlds smoking areas. I never even knew where they were untill someone pointed it out to me.I even walked past it several times and never cought a wiff of smoke.
I guess it all depends on where the park puts the smoking area.
As far as people smoking in line, I have reported it to an employiee before, but by time I actually see an employiee, the smoker is done. I cant leave my place in line to go hunt down a worker because I would lose my place in line.

People do not need the government to protect them from themselves, that is not the purpose of government.
Seriously. Before you know it, they'll be taking away the right to use cocaine!
Cocaine works great as a pain killer and headache treatment.
And it has this cool benefit of removing from the gene pool those people that don't know how to use it in moderation.
Besides, the 20's proved just how well prohibition works.
Legalize. Tax it. Regulate it.
Instead we've decided to criminalize it and waste billions incarcerating people who are only harming themselves. The true killers of the drug trade wouldn't exist if drugs were legalized.

But before they take away our right to use it, they'll do their best to make sure we are well addicted to it.
Your right.
All those people that snort cocaine and murder there familys were wrongly accused.
Or what about the guy that snorted coke and thought he could fly. He is now part of the sidewalk.
Yea, lets leagalize it.
Woulden't that be great if everybody was tweeked on coke?
Eather you have a twisted sense of humor(like me:)), or you have no value for human life.

I was being sarcastic, but it's crazy to think that we need to decriminalize narcotics. Thankfully, that's a fringe viewpoint. That's a good example of taking the idea of limited government way too far.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for limited government (they couldn't eliminate Social Security fast enough for me, for example). But we have to have some standards as a nation.
^^ - but crazy, you missed the point. If a guy does a line and jumps out a building (provided he doesn't land on anyone) who has he hurt?
Narcotics are an extreme example. But the same atmosphere that surrounds narcotics is the same one that surrounded alcohol in the 20's. But in 1933, there were a lot of unemployed gangsters (as well as more tax revenue) when people were allowed to legally purchase sell and possess alcohol.

Who has he hurt?
His family.
Beer is great(I would know:)), if used in moderation. Allthough I sometimes break that rule.

And that's the magic phrase "used in moderation." Its when something becomes abused that it is a problem.

This topic is way out of control.
I didn't see it mentioned in the previous pages, but this smoke free issue has nothing to do with the government. The Issue called "Smoke Free Ohio" was brought to Ohioians in the election last November. It was voted on and Overwhelmingly passed by Voters Not the Government (IIRC around 70%). There was another issue called "Smoke Less Ohio" that would have allowed for smoking in some places, but still a mostly smoke free Ohio. This issue Overwhelmingly Failed. So to say this is government interference is a load of bull.
The Tribe Has Spoken. It's time for you to go home.

I noticed there was no reference in the release to sprucing up the ride side or getting rid of Hurricane Hannah's. I would have loved to see this sentence: "In addition, the park plans an exceptionally large landscaping and beautification program."
My author website: mgrantroberts.com.
I agree.
The park is in preatty ruff shape. First they remove 2 star coasters, and bel air. And to top it off, the old waterpark is just going to sit there growing more muck.
If this is part of the rebuilding process for the park, I dont think its going to leave a good taste in peoples mouths.
One thing I did find interesting, was the lego racer film and the addition of tim hill.

I think it is obvious that CF has a long term goal for the park, but its budget isn't there to allow a lot of additions at one time. Over the next few years, we'll be seeing more things change.
