Dude. we dont care what kind of things you are into. Its a CEDAR POINT FAN SITE. if you like cedar point congratulations. if you are going, even better. but you dont have to show off about it. and is it really right to single out a certain group and give them there own day? i mean, if they are allowed and it is ok... when is Teenager Day?

"Ive got the need, the need for speed!"

Does "gay day" spill over into Soak City?!?!

I'm going to try and be as non-stereotypical, non-homophobic, non-pessimist about this as I can.

All were really asking here is that you keep this kind of stuff off of the Pointbuzz boards. You can go and have "gay day" but it honestly doesn't need to be advertised here. Most of these people were angered by the way the topic founder shoved the topic like it was some invasion. You have the right to go there, have a good time and hang out with your friends. So be it. But please, don't shove it in our faces like that.

Thank You

Hey sorry about my earlier post had to get through a lot of that stuff with my family a few years back and it probably just got ignighted again cedarpointlover. Well anyway i personally dont like the ''were queer and here'' attitude and that seems like what everyone only sees but anyway this post seemed to start off that way and i was wondering when someone would post a thread like this and but what hoping they would not get flamed...no pun intended :) But anyway some people just dont like to go on any kind of special outing day and that is fine but anyway like I said who ever goes have fun....and I am sorry if i got upset in my last post.

Remember that the park is open to everyone just like any other day and 99% of the visitors will still be the same families that come to the park on any other day. I would guess that 9 out of 10 guests that come to the park on Sunday will not even know that there is anything special about that day from any other day.

Was there any doubt where this thread was going from the start?

This conversation is appalling. Please hear me out.

June is the month when gay people around the world unite, step up, and step out in celebration of the diversity we bring to society. While gay pride marches and rallys are typically one day events in most cities, the rest of the month is spent developing awareness through appearances, lectures, film festivals, charity fund raisers, and yes, visits to amusement parks.

Should a group that expects equality expect a special day/weekend/month too? Absolutely. Here in Columbus we will not only be celebrating Gay Pride, but also Juneteenth, Festival Latino, Asian Festival, among others. These are all minority sponsored events (to which everyone in the community is invited) designed to raise cultural awareness. Is it flag waiving? Sure. Is it in-your-face? Sometimes. Is it offensive to some? Probably. But absolutely necessary in a society where none of these groups enjoy the liberties that are automatically afforded to those that happen to be White or heterosexual.

When is Straight day? Teenagers day? Please tell me that kind of uninformed comment is a joke.

Equality for Gays and other minority groups will not happen in my lifetime or yours. So until then you should all expect to see us "shoved in your face" at least one day out of the year.

Cedar Point guests tomorrow will be very aware of our presence. We will be there spending our money and having fun like everyone else. We will also wear what we want. We will hold our partners hand if we want. We will be there, collectively, to remind everyone that we are indeed at your parks. We are at your workplace. We are in your neighborhood, your school, your street. Your message boards. And we don't care if you like it or not.
